GT Experience - ex: when do GTs get their cornell emails, acceptance letter, etc...?

hey, for those of you who went through the Guaranteed Transfer experience,
what was it like? I'm a GT for ILR, but I just wanted to know what exactly happens and when.

I know you send your midterm whenever grades are ready. Is the acceptance decision made right after you send your midterm? When do we recieve the acceptance letter? When do GTs recieve the Cornell emails?

It would be nice if we got emails to keep us updated.

I just recently received an email that provided me with a pin with which to check my app status online…other GTs should be receiving it as well!

acerbic, is that because you already sent in your GT application?

ya...sent it in sometime ago...i think i was just entered into the system!

i got a GT application by email...did everyone else get this?

GT application???? for ILR??? ha...

yeah on this application there's a place that asks which school were you offered transfer to? and ILR is one of them.

oh ya...got that by mail tho...same thing...now I remember Ian sent them through email as well, but if you have already sent in the one you got by mail you should be ok!

Do GT's have priority in housing or anything?

I know this is a longshot, but when I first applied to CU I did ED, now i am a GT, does that carry over at all?

to the OP: I did GT last year and got my official acceeptance letter in late May. It wasn't ILR though so it might vary.

to Last2AcntsBanned: ED doesn't carry through but they will offer you accommodation on campus so no worries. But they might put you in some non-traditional transfer housing if they overenrolled 200+ freshmen like they did this year again...

Sorry to change the subject, but I was just wondering if anyone out there had a GT to Human Ecology. I heard that everyone who received a GT has a transfer counselor (at least for ILR), but I received a GT to HE and don't think I ever received anyone's name. Anyways, could someone who received a GT from HE supply me with a transfer counselor/advisor's name to contact - I had a couple questions.

So how does GT (Guaranteed Transfer) work ?

lol…Basically you are “guaranteed” a transfer after completing a year or in some cases two of college somewhere else…for the transfer to be guaranteed tho you are required to take certain courses and maintain a certain GPA! Otherwise, you are offered a spot and guaranteed housing!

Cool. Is it only for ILR ?

nope....;)

I think its for CALS, HumanEc, and ILR, right?

Arts and Sciences also gives out GTs

But don't ask how to do it...they give u the option, u don't ask :) lol. Ya Ian is the ILR go-to-guy and he is the man. Really fast responses and really nice!

Speaking of fast responses, the guy returns my emails in like minutes…he is absolutely amazing!!!! It was sooo nice to meet him, he was very kind and you can tell that he cares, which is really awesome ;)
