Gt Help!

Yeah good luck to you too! but CALS is seriously being way better than i expected about it, im just waiting for Cathys approval and then everything will be fixed  Theyll help you out. I think she was just that strict at the meeting to show all the kids who thought the road to Cornell was paved for them that it isn’t. She’ll see you’re working hard and doing what you’re supposed to

Wow, good luck. At least your problem can be resolved in some way or another… I cried my eyes out last night because I can’t fulfill the bio requirement at all and be a good GT and get into Cornell next year…

You can always take winter session courses, if they are available…if…

I would def suggest e-mailing Cornell, they helped me and were very understanding! Yeah, I’m looking into winter session

ps- thats really weird you just posted! I was looking through my posts to see if i missed any responses and didnt even bother looking at the time. Lol so weird…

Aw that sucks. But, I fessed up too. You’re not the only one who told your school about your intentions, grantortue.

Yeah, but I don’t really regret it at all. My advisor is really great about it, and she knows how important everything is. Funny thing is, we are both from the same area, like practically the same town. She told me she wanted to go to Cornell, but I think she got rejected :frowning: Which means 2 things: She could be nasty and bitter and take out her suppressed aggression of Cornell on me, or she could realize how badly she wanted it and try to help me get there. Thank God I got the second one, haha. But I think if I never told them things would be a lot more difficult. Plus, I wouldn’t be exempt from all the tedious undeclared workships (since I’m not really undeclared.)

Lucky. I told my advisor my situation too (but I added that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to transfer, and just wanted to keep my options open, even though I am sure already), but she still is making me do the Undeclared seminar :(.

^^I’m sorry you guys seems to be having a such a hard time.

But…work through it…do well…and get on over to Cornell-where they really do want you :-)

This is why I’m really glad I stayed at ACC instead of going to SUNY before thinking of Cornell transfer; they actually do their best to help you transfer because that’s what going to a CC is for! It’s great, I had a substitute for my freshman seminar class who talked a lot about transfer stuff, so I went after class to ask her about Cornell. She was really helpful and told me everything I should ask at the Open House as well as telling me how much success our college has had with Cornell transfers.

I have the same transfer requirements (Bio I/II, Writing I/II, Sociology, and Stats). I’m taking intro bio/writing now, and the others next semester.

At the Open House for CALS on Sunday, though, I’m going to try to ask someone in the Communication department if there’s a way I can take Bio II when I get to CALS instead of next semester. The only course applicable would be Botany (Bio 112) and at my community college, they only offer it at one particular time three days a week. Problem is, my writing/stats class options pretty much all overlap that, except for one option involving me being on the road to school at 7am (and in upstate NY with icy roads, that might not be a great idea…).

If I end up having to take Botany, I might have to end up taking Sociology AND Writing II online, which I hope isn’t seen as a problem to Cornell.
