Holy **** i got accepted!!!
:))))))))))

I got AASU offer is that better then waitlisted? IS there anyway i can get repeal for Summer Admission

Johnlin, what is “AASU” offer? I got just a plain waitlist.

SlightManifesto - I am shocked about our waitlist too. I applied EA and got deferred and now got a waitlist. The 4.0 GPA I have is our school’s weighted GPA so it includes things like Yearbook etc that Tech does not include. The 33 ACT is real. I only took 2 APs though. My essay was good and had it reviewed by 2 teachers before I sent it in. I am out of state and I heard that requirements are harder for out of state students but am not positive of that.

Out of state students are not held to higher standards.

Not sure about “higher standards” but there is a preference for in-state students, which was explicitly stated this year. According to the ajc, Tech officials said that while three percent fewer Ga. students applied than last year, an equal number will be enrolled. That’s a three percent bump on top of whatever they were doing already. If you look at Ga. Tech’s Common Data Set, state residency is listed as an “important” factor in admissions. Howver, at the University of Georgia, state residency is “not considered.” UGA admits about 11 percent out of state (consequently, not a huge issue), while Georgia Tech admits 31 percent, according to its most recent CDS (potentially a huge political issue, given application trends at the school). If no preference was given in-state applicants, the school’s enrollment in a few years would look like an elite private’s–i.e. majority oos.
