GT being a highly ranked school for engineering how good is their business program in terms of internships and job opportunities. Any parents out there who have done business major at GT? Thanks !
It’s #10 this year in the Poets and Quants rankings. What specialty? International business is well regarded. Calculus is required if that matters but it is a Tech school. Lots of internships, co-ops and jobs in Atlanta. It’s also recruited nationally.
S20 transferred out of Scheller for ISyE but really liked his business classes.
It’s direct admit and small so that’s a plus.
What are you’re other options?
Thanks ! My sons other options are Northeastern and IU ( Kelly school of business) so far. He is still waiting on two reach schools. I do see the ranking is pretty good and I know for now he is not interested in engineering stream at all more gearing towards finance / investing banking space.
Two semesters of math including one semester of calculus is required for every business program I know of.
GT requires two Calculus classes and it’s the same ones the CS/engineering students take. You can use AP credits or take them at a local CC and transfer. I think they offer sections specifically for the “non” STEM students.
Boston is a great college city. We liked NE and the co-ops. You either love or hate the campus.
Don’t rule out Industrial Engineering. Lots of finance quant jobs.
Georgia Tech has a strong & loyal alumni group which leads to internships & job offers.
