So I have already applied for Aerospace Engineering and I am hoping to be accepted although I am not certain i want to attend GT. A lot of people have said that GT's undergrad gpa is very very low. I am 90% sure i want to go to Graduate School and get my masters before i start working.

So is there any truth to this difficulty(q is for curring GT engineering students)? It seems like the avg gpa is 3.0 which is an absolute killer.

Same here !!! I really wanna go to grad school and from what I’ve heard gpas get pretty low there.

I just applied for electrical engineering last week, so good luck to you :)

It’s not that bad.

Yeah, I’m inclined to agree with the above guy. One thing I advise you to keep in mind when dealing with Georgia Tech is that they like nothing more than to make themselves seem like the bees knees. The workload, the student body, the acceptance rate, all of them are way exaggerated by Georgia Tech.

I do less work than I did in high school and have essentially a 4.0. I’m also taking what are allegedly two of the weed out classes for my major and have A’s in both of them. The schoolwork is horribly, horribly overrated.

I think you’ll find the reason that the GPA is so low is that because, while the top 10% at GT may be intelligent, most people here are not the superhumans that GT admissions would make them out to be. In fact, I’d say that they’re not very much above average.
