I've already compared academics.*Could someone compare the social life at Georgia Tech to University of Florida. As a man, the male:female ratio of GT concerns me. I'm not concerned with parties. I want to be able to find a couple of good friends and have an enjoyable college life. I'm more laid back than most science and engineering majors, so I'm trying to figure out which would be a better fit.

Cross posting with the UF forum for more answers

K so I’ve been here all of four weeks and from what I’ve noticed there are lots of parties Thursday-saturday nights especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
If you make an attempt to leave your dorm and introduce yourself to people you’ll more than definitely find some friends.
And as for girls, they’re not TOO bad here. Def not what everyone says they are but my friends and I go to emory every weekend and the girls there are really hot so yea UF might be your best bet if you’re in it just for the girls
and everyone is gonna tell you that social life here is terrible but they’re all so completely wrong. There is so so much to do here

Thanks. I’m not in it just for girls, I just want to enjoy where I go to school. Happiness = success.

There are a lot of attractive girls even in engineering. If you can’t get a girl here, the slightly better odds at UF aren’t going to help you either.
