Gtown '11: Hard to get in. Harder to get AID.

I know it's way too early to make any conclusions about decisions this year but, to those who have already received their aid package, what can you say about what you expected (efc from Fafsa) and what Gtown gave you? I'm totally crossing my fingers right about now. I'm in love with the school but doesn't matter if I can't afford it. :(

They gave me nothing, but I can definitely afford it, if my parents don't plan on retiring ever. Georgetown's financial aid is a joke. I have a friend who got a full ride and stipend, and she's not at all poor. My EFC was somewhere around 63,000, which is nowhere near realistic.

Same here. It sucks.

I'm in the same position, I feel as though the middle class is getting squeezed out of Georgetown not because of talent, but because of financial aid.

I got screwed at first as well, but then I appealed, and they gave me a significantly better and affordable offer. I'm relieved.

Yea, it sucks. You just have to keep in mind that graduating with significant college debt is becoming the rule rather than the exception. It will be worth it in the long run.
