GTown info. nights - need a name!

Hello! I was hoping some of you could help me out with this. I visited a Georgetown/Duke/Harvard/U. Penn information night tonight, and it was extremely informative. It was a great experience that allowed me to see a bit of a different side of the college admissions process that I hadn't considered before and also cleared up many of the aspects of the college ordeal that I was fuzzy on (and nervous about!). I can't say that I feel more comfortable with my chances of being accepting come autumn or anything like that, but I do feel more prepared to apply.

The problem is this: I wanted to send of a quick letter to the woman I spoke with tonight from Georgetown to thank her for her time (I tend to do that after these nights, not to set myself apart but to just make my name slightly easier to recognize on my application). However, my inclination has never been for names: she mentioned her name several times, and I'm just at a loss for what her it is. I know she has a tie with Undergraduate Admissions for Georgetown, obviously, and also that she is the person who reads Georgetown Undergraduate applications for Central and Southern New Jersey. I also know (from frantically searching for a list of names of the people that spoke tonight, of course! :P) that the title of the woman that accompanied her from the University of Pennsylvania is "Regional Director" but, beyond that, I really know nothing.

PLEASE help, as this is very, very important to me. I appreciate any guidance you may provide!

Ugh, I think I'd be really disconcerted if I got that kind of a letter.

Wait...I don't understand. You went to an admissions session with representatives from all of these schools. I've never heard of schools wokring together at sessions. Why were these schools, in particular, at the session? Can you plz explicate!

The same tour came through Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. Each school did a quick 10-15 min. slide show/talk and then they took general questions for about 30 min, and then broke out into separate groups to answer questions about their individual schools. They have been doing this for several years, it is a good way to give a quick overview of your school to a large group of high school students. My D and several of her friends were invited to attend - we assumed they got the names from their PSAT scores.

Sorry I can't help with the name of the Georgetown rep - the person that spoke at our session for Georgetown was male - we had also met him when we did a Georgetown tour over spring break.

I went to one in Northern Jersey and he was a guy. I actually didn't find that stuff too informative. It was run of the mill college stuff. Nothing I couldn't have found out from a website search.

I went last year to the one in Philly, I didn't think it was extremely interesting. The reps. just take turns speaking about their college for whoever was wondering.

yeah they've been doing this for a while. I went to one like 3yrs ago. wow i feel old. haha.
