Gtown SFS Essay

Hi everyone!
All my apps have been submitted but Georgetown. Does the SFS essay need to have a personal connection?
Also, how important is the SFS essay in comparison to the other two?

Thanks! :)

I hadn’t even thought of that…I wrote mine (currently editing) on a topic which I don’t have a personal experience with but that I’m passionate about and see as feasibly changeable. I was going to ask, how long are they supposed to be? Mine is 800 but I’m trying to edit it down to 650-700

My essay last year was around 550 words in one long paragraph. I didn’t have any personal connection with the topic at all.

Did any of you guys make a personal connection?

ok mine ended up staying at 800 words. Oh well, it said approximately 1 page and it was between 1 page and 1 and a half on my computer, so that’s ‘approximate’

what topics did you guys do?

i wrote about the problem of aid dependency in LEDCs
no personal connection, still accepted.

DS had no personal connection in his SFS essay…wrote about a topic that interested him and was accepted. Good luck!

I made a personal connection. I thought it made the essay a lot more meaningful.

sorry to ask, but what is SFS?

…School of Foreign Service.

thanks for the clarification

Mine had a personal connection (I interned with a group relating to my topic) and was just about 550 words
