GU Possibility?

I am an Ohio native already planning on applying to six schools (3 in the Midwest, 3 on the East Coast), but Georgetown is a dream school. That said I am outside of the traditional GU applicant pool, but I have seen many former college students regretting not at least trying at that reach school. My question is whether or it is worth it to try and spend my money on application fees.

About me:
I Plan on Studying Political Science and Journalism
I have a 3.77 GPA
My Highest ACT is a 29
Reading - 34
English - 31
Writing - 29
Science - 25
Math - 24

My school does not offer AP or IB classes, but I am currently in three DE courses (American Politics, Elementary Statistics, and College English) which are the highest level offered at my high school.
I have participated in Marching Band, Concert Band, Show Choir Band, Cross Country, Honors Society, Rotary International Service Club, Yearbook, Model UN, and Quiz Bowl in which I am a three time All-Conference Selection. I have also attended Bernie 2016 Political meetings and spoken before my county’s Democratic Party meeting on Bernie (in which former US Treasurer Mary Ellen Withrow complimented my speech).

By all means apply if it’s your dream school. I wouldn’t think your chances are that good. Your GPA is borderline, course rigor you’ve done the best you can given your high school but most students admitted to Georgetown will have a handful of AP courses. Your ACT composite schore is about 3 - 4 points too low

Agree with Wje9164be, if it’s a dream school definitely apply even if it’s a reach and you have to scrap up the admissions fee. Everyone should apply to a few reaches. Georgetown has it’s own application, so really play up your Poli-Sci and Model UN interest, as well as your political activities. Can Mary Ellen Withrow help in some way? Would she remember you? See if you can talk to her and ask advice on how to get into Georgetown. Don’t be shy. GW or American as other possibilities? Good luck!
