i think i will transfer, but i might fall in love with ucsd and i am also going to try my luck at berkeley and columbia again

Adding to the discussion about expensive inexpensive colleges I was actually considering NOT going to NYU but rather trying to get into a state school via rolling admissions or attending a local college. Since I found out after I sent in my deposite, housing deposit, orientation fee, etc. I realized that I should go to NYU to see if I like it, since I may decide NOT to transfer.. The program at NYU also seemed to fit me very well and had oppertunities to take very interesting classes, so it just seemed my best choice and my parents also told me to stick with NYU regardless of what I want to do with the transfer. However, after thinking about it for the past weeks and doing some more research I most likely WILL Be taking advantage of the guaranteed transfer option but plan on making the most of my time at NYU, even though I will be paying alot more than what I would pay at Cornell.

although, you can make the most out of your college, wherever you go. i went to suny stony brook, the last place on earth i wanted to be. my mom applied behind my back because she knew i was gonna get a guaranteed transfer. and she told me either maryland (my second choice) or stonybrook and then cornell, because if i have a great time at stonybrook, great, and i decide on staying, even better (since stonybrook actually is a pretty good school). but if i hate it, then that would just make me want to work harder to go to cornell =)

on a side note, i loved stonybrook and believe it or not actually considered staying

how did ur mom now u would get a gt?

she didn't know, she just suspected it because she had read about it

I was initially going to attend Johns Hopkins until I found out about their Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory first semester grading system and GT requires grades for first semester. And then I was going to apply to a local community college so I could get a 4.0 lol but thought otherwise and went with Miami.
