I did a bunch of theater and community service throughout high school. I also ran varsity cross country for 2 years. Both of the teachers writing my recs love me. I've also taken a bunch of college courses because my high school didnt offer enough upper level courses.

What are my chances at Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Brown, Swarthmore, NYU, U. Chicago, and Rice? Where else should I apply? A guy from my very small high school got into Princeton ED, so I doubt I'd get in there.

And I know people with 1350 on their SAT who got into Columbia. We are talking relatively here. The mid 50% SAT range for Columbia is 1310-1510 and 80% graduate in the top 10% of their class. Miranda has a 1530 on her SAT and is ranked higher than at least 50% of Columbia's entering class.

Alexandre, I go to a really good prep school and only 1 out of 6 got in. They all have amazing grades, decent ECs, and for some reason Columbia rejected all of them. Similiar people applied to Stanford and 4/7 got in. The SAT isn't everything. Perhaps they take chances more.

That is exactly correct, Dusk. The SAT is only a small part of the equation. The essays, recommendations, and ECs are each at least as important as the SAT.

Well, my school doesnt do class rank because my graduating class is 16 people.

I wrote a really good essay for stanford that I think I'll use when I apply to these other schools. And I have to really big extra curriculars (a drama/community service one and mock trial).

My recs are from the science teacher who I took 2 ap classes from last year and my as US history teacher who is also my mock trial coach.
