Any guess on the day, so we can start a countdown?

Nobody really knows...but I'd say a good day to pick would be December 15th.

They came on the 10th last year, right?

One of the ladies I called at MIT admissions said the 7th.

The 7th!? Are you serious! That's in...what, two weeks? !!!

Yeah, last year was on the 10th.
the 7th!!! WOW! I hope so, so I could start on my other apps, if I don't get in.

The 7th? Ew, too early. I need time to prepare myself for my rejection...

please don't take my word. But I'm 90% sure that's what she said. I was quite surprised too.

Are they online or by mail?

Daaaaaaaaamnnnn..I wanted to update my app too...guess too late....

I'll settle for the deferral in December....

Our goal is to release decisions online at noon MIT-time (EST) on Saturday December 9th. Decisions will also be sent via postal mail around the same time. I won't be able to confirm 100% until we're a bit farther along in the process, but I'll let you know if anything changes.

Whoa...now let's hope I don't have to work before noon on Saturday!

18 days........

17 (ten char)

The sad thing is that December 9 is an SAT test day. I know of a few kids who are having their parents check online and texting them so they can walk out on the test if they get in and subsequently don't need it.

I think you're mistaken. December 2 is the test date.

It appears I am! I guess things will work out well for the '11s after all. :)

The 9th is an ACT test date, though. Ouch. I don't think the texting thing would work, though... kind of against the rules, isn't it?

I guess if you only got texted if you were accepted, it wouldn't really matter that it invalidated your scores...

ACT it is! I probably mistook one for the other...

Yeah, the mentality is that it doesn't matter what the College Board does. The worst they can do is invalidate your scores. And even then, couldn't you just whip out your cell phone in the bathroom or something?
