Here's a quote from a response I received from the admissions office:

"Thanks for your email. Actually we plan to mail letters by mid-March."

MID MARCH!
As in, soon-ish. =]

April 1st is the day decisions will come out.

Prefrosh Weekend is held the first weekend in April. Thus, decisions will be mailed prior to April 1.

I was joking. April Fool's Day and all.

Ugh, I need to get my transcript fixed and midyear report sent in.

It's all good. Just wanted to make sure the (potential) prefrosh didn't start freaking out.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t catch that one either =] hah!

The college that would put out decisions on April 1st is a cruel one.

20th March

I was missing some materials and i sent them a mail telling them I has sent it. They just replied back saying my apps complete and…

We expect to mail Regular Decision admissions decisions by March 20th.

Yep I got the same email when they received all the parts of my application.

are the decisions going out by email or available on the web, or is it just going to be snail mail

thanks

For early action this year (and I’d assume they’re doing it the same way for RD), decision letters were mailed and then followed up by an email three days later.

^^
weird, i received the email about 2-3days b4 i got letter in the mail…

The letters were mailed on Monday, email was sent out on Saturday. Depending on where you were in the country (and the reliability of your email), they arrived at different times relative to each other.

omg omg omg!!! 3 more weekss!!!

I got my transcript fixed and the report has been faxed. Crossing my fingers…

does caltech put kids on waitlists? how do you know u have been waitlisted?

They do put people on a wait list (I have a friend who got in off of the wait list some time in april I think) I’m not sure how they notify you, but I’m assuming they send you a letter or something.

Waitlist letters are sent out with RD results. You’ll get a big packet if you’re accepted, or a letter if you’re rejected or waitlisted. You have the option of staying on the waitlist or not. You then find out if you got off the waitlist usually in May.

Is it just me or do Caltech and MIT tend to send things out at the same time?
