Hahahaha

Stanford and Chicago aren't Ivies.

You don't need real advice. Go play in the mud or something.

This is a troll people, come on. I thought it was pretty obvious anyway.

milki im sorry for not knowing they arent ivies, but they are definitely close

and what is a troll

When i was in 7th grade, I was researching a cure for cancer, and my lowest grade was a 102 (my Calc teacher HATED me). YOu seem to be way behind. I hear community college isn't that bad.

I was studying real analysis in 5th grade. By the time I was in 6th grade I had co-authored a study on tumor supressor genes in fruit flies that was published in Nature. Just give up.

And I have every single merit badge possible from boy scouts.

I believe your post is sarcasm

even if it isnt i will get to real analysis probably in high school

and I took a practice SAT, 540 verbal, 590 math, 550 writing how is that for a 7th grader?

Green,

Really, you're not going to get that good of a reception here. Take our advice, and don't think about college yet. That time will come. Enjoy life as it is now. Don't add unneccesary stressors.

I'm not making fun of you, I'm just saying its not wise to not even know what the Ivy League is and apply for it.

High School is very different from middle school - trust me on this one.

I loved Math till Geometry now Freshmen year of High School (in AAF - IB Version of Algebra 2), I hate Math with a passion. Your priorities in life WILL change. I wanted to go to Med School first, but now I'm planning something along the lines of Engineering/Business.

Your score is VERY good for a 7th Grader.

go do something worthwhile instead of obsessing over school. no one looks at your grades until 10th grade anyways, 9th grade barely matters. seriously, go have a life and don't be a loser. try and get laid for a bit, its a better use of your time until you turn 14

oh, and my little horror story, the smartest person in our middle school had an emotional breakdown, started popping speed, got expelled, and went to Georgia State. She had the same attitude as you, so lighten up. also, get off this site, its not benificial to you yet

Students and parents should be implementing a strategy for an ivy-league school when the student enters the 6th grade in my opinion.

Why wait until the 6th grade? Much too late. You've already missed that golden window for becoming fluent in a second or third language, and most elite sports leagues have already skimmed off their travel and all-star teams. Too late to become a music virtuoso. You've only have a few short years to experience AND overcome the sort of serious life challenges that so impress admissions committees -- you know, living in the hood, or dad in jail, or parents overseas missionaries who've sent you to a spartan boarding school where you finally learned what is really important in life, or surviving a near-fatal car accident or tsunami wave. It's probably much too late to begin a career as a famous child actor who Just Wants To Be a Normal Kid, or to found an orphanage for AIDS orphans in Kenya. (The paperwork on that last one could take years.) You're too old to be the Youngest Kid to Swim the English Channel or Sail Solo Across the Pacific or Fly Across the U.S.

You might have to settle for a (gasp) state university.

LOL, Some of my classmates did a satire on Asian Parents (they were asian too....) (for IB) and they were talking about how parents should brainwash their kids starting from their birth.

No one is offering you the advice you want because it is not the advice you need.

You need to get off CC.
You need to stop worrying about college.
You need to learn what sarcasm is, because otherwise you'll be lost on CC, if you decide to stay and ignore my advice.
You need to learn that the Ivy League is just a name that does not ensure the best education for you.
You need to know that middle school is absolutely nothing like high school.
You need to not think about prestige.
You need to know that your interests will change with time.
You need to reread everything I just said and follow it.

For once, Snoopy is being incredibly serious. I second all of the above statements.

What can a parent or kids do in 6th grade? You are a fool. Students should study and do well in school from that point on, but what could you do to better your chances at an ivy league school that is not way out of the ordinary? Who is going to start quizzing their kids in 6th grade with SAT questions? If anyone does, they should have their children taken away from them because they are just living their dreams through their children.

believe your post is sarcasm

even if it isnt i will get to real analysis probably in high school

and I took a practice SAT, 540 verbal, 590 math, 550 writing how is that for a 7th grader?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.....real analysis my A**....you want to be an economist?
why in the world would you take that..just finish calculus and go to Linear algebra like the rest of us...

i might want to go into economics

and claremarie ur scaring me - i dont have to be a prodigy to get into the ivy leagues - what if I am valedictorian at Stuy Townshendharris or Horrace Mann?

greenrabbit, you are going to change quite a bit between now and graduation. What you want in a college will probably change. Right now, you are probably only aware of a few colleges - there are many, many more out there. Just relax, keep on track making good grades, relax, discover and develop your interests, and relax.

dude claremarie is messing with you.. this is what you have to do..

Join some sports clubs and stuff to do with athletics

Get a girl friend

Go to a school dance with her

Do ALL of your homework.. better to get into the habit now..have a routine for when you do your HW so that when you get into high school you already have a time set for doing all your HW.

Try to do HW the night it is given by the teacher so you never have to wrory about it.

Keep track of everything in your head.. try not to use palm pilot or organizer or anything, once you get it o the habit of memorizing everything (all your HW) it will really help you out.

Study the material you learn the day you learn it, do not cram before a test, just know everything when you learn it so before the test all you have to do is review for 10 mins and you will have everything down pat.

Ak for help, don't think you know it all

Be very nice and respectful to every human being you come across and DO NOT talk in slang, speak like an educated person.

Try and follow all the grammar rules when you text message or write in forums (one of my many faults)

Go on a nother date with youyr girlfreind

Make more friends

Watch a lot of football and basketball with your friends

Try your best to have a VERY VERY good relationship with your parents

Put some cologne on because you smell like someone who thinks he's tight but isn't.

Memorize all the math equations you learn

Know all the grammar rules.

Don't drink or smoke EVER EVER EVER NEVER

Use a rubber

Apply to an Ivy
