Guidance Forms and Transcript

I submitted my application online a long time ago for Berkeley as well as UCLA but the instructions were kind of unclear and I heard from someone that you only have to send your transcripts once you're admitted.

1: Is this correct?

2: No teacher/Guidance recommendations needed?

Thanks so much.. I'm kinda having second thoughts now about my application and I'm worried.. :(

You could have simply searched this. It's been asked thousands of times.

No, you don't send transcripts unless and until you've been accepted and you choose to attend; they'll be due by mid-July.

No, the UCs neither require nor want recommendations; if you send them, they will be thrown out.

Alright, thanks I feel 100% better now. and.. wow... i wonder how many people lie on their online app then

Not many, I would think. When you send in your transcripts, they're checked against what you reported on the application; if there are discrepancies, your admission will be rescinded. (Yes, this has happened to students before.) In addition, UC randomly chooses 10% of its applicants to validate an item on their applications, so most wouldn't dare lie about an activity/award/whatever.

Of course, that doesn't mean applicants don't actively embellish, but I don't think it often comes to outright lying.
