Guide for incoming student

I am an incoming transfer student. I will be living in North Quad as a junior. I know many upperclassmen don't live on campus. Can someone give me the 101 on Michigan. Such as what welcome week is? I hear a lot about that, I know tons of freshmen will be going to the parties but how can I navigate my way through that as an upperclassmen, how do I go about doing so?

Also what are football Saturdays like? I did not purchase season tickets but was thinking of just buying them individually? Are there any really good clubs I should consider joining? I was considering the Michigan Daily. Any advice would be extremely helpful.

I am coming from a small school so this will be very different for me.

If you’re looking for clubs to join, you should definitely check out maize pages and festifall! Maize pages is a directory of all of the organizations (https://maizepages.umich.edu/</a>), and festifall is the day that people are all out on the diag representing their clubs. I would suggest taking your time walking around and really trying to figure out what every table is all about, as the university really has a lot to offer in terms of clubs!

I believe we have an org called the “Transfer Student Network.” Here’s a link to their fb page: <a href=“Transfer Student Network @ U of M | Facebook”>https://www.facebook.com/groups/119067714773360/</a> (you have to be logged in to go there, though), and I know that they have a maize page if you look them up. While I’m not a transfer student, I feel like we must have a lot of them, as I met/kinda became friends with three different junior transfer students over the course of my freshman year, all through different classes/clubs?

Also, the Daily seems to be a cool way to make friends- I know that they have parties and stuff (if that’s your thing). Good luck!

Oh okay, didn’t realize that CC blocks facebook links. Their fb page should be linked to their maize page, so just use that!
