I'm bored so I think I'll post a series of guides for the new students. Feel free to add as you wish...

Basics
Take-out and Delivery is a vital part of every college student's life. If its 10PM on a Friday, most Night Owls and all of the dinning halls are closed so getting food delivered is necessary.
- Every dorm has a driveway up to it; when you move in, that's what you'll drive up to get rid of your luggage and begin the move-in process. This is also where all the delivery people go to delivery food. You should know where your spot is and where all of your friend's building's spots are so anyone can go get the food.
- Look for any coupons or deals, many places will give special coupons for university students (there is a coupon book given out with these coupons, as well as some just on individual menus). Student menus for thing like Dominos are very cheap and useful.
- When you first order, make sure to give your phone number and your address (Binghamton University, Community, and Building Name). Give your order and make sure they tell it back to you if you want to check for accuracy (good food places will usually read it back to you without prompts). Lastly get the total (including tax and any delivery fees) and you should ask for an approximate time.
- While waiting get the money together. If you have a group of people ordering a variety, this can be annoying so do this as soon as you hang up the phone. Make sure every one gives an extra dollar or so for the tip. Lastly designate a person to go get the food.
- When the delivery guy (usually a guy anyway) is there he will call the number you gave them at the beginning. This is your cue to go down for the food. Make sure you have the money and a way back into the building (whether that be an ID card or someone to open the door for you. Go to the designated spot for the building. He (or she) should either be waiting or driving up to the dorm as you get there.
- He'll tell you the total. If you have exact change (including tip) give it to him and say "Keep the change." If you have a larger bill, ask for a specific number back that also leaves a tip. I don't recommend paying them in quarters or pennies, its kind of rude and annoying so don't do it.
- Take the food, check to make sure its the correct phone number (they'll often have several orders at once), thank him and head back inside.
- Divvy up the food and enjoy!

Chinese
There are a variety of places that hand out menus in dorms and in the mailboxes so don't worry about getting menus. If you're unsure about which place is good, I do recommend ordering with friends) a large variety of appetizers and small dishes to try out everything at once. Pick out the best place and stick with it. You can also put the number of the place in your cell phone for easy ordering (or if you don't have a menu readily accessible). These places will often close earlier than pizza places so remember that when planning on a time for dinner.

Pizza/Italian
Same thing on the menu front, they're pretty much every where. The quality of the local places is questionable... I actually prefer Dominos over a lot of the local pizzerias. Sad, but true. The quality of the regular Italian is decent so if you feel like some veal parmigiana, you should be covered. There is also a place that exclusively makes calzones, which I've heard are very good.

About Dominos: There is a student menu for Binghamton students and it is located in the aforementioned coupon book. When you order using it, they will also stick a little card with the same info that you can keep in a wallet or on a cork board. The student menu is a great deal as well. Dominos is also open later on the weekends so no issues getting late night snacks.

Other
As far as I know there isn't really any other... XD

Add if you can and enjoy that delivery food!

Kids who are coming from out of the area should prepare themselves for square pizza. This isn’t your thin crusted NYC pizza; it’s square. That’s all that one can really say about it.

GREEK FOOD! There’s a really good greek place called “Mediterranean Gyro” that delivers to campus! I definitely recommend it. It’s a bit pricier (around $11) a person, but you get salad, meal, plus dessert. So it’s worth the few extra dollars.

Knew I forgot something… XD I don’t eat Greek food at all so it isn’t on my radar but thanks for adding it. It is a major part of most people’s takeout variety.

Caemin - I think you should try it at least once! It’s a nice change from the Chinese/italian, lol. My friends and I are hooked on this place. It’s SO good!

If you or your friends have a car, there’s a really good Greek diner about 15 minutes away in Endwell called the Broadway Diner. Rarely see college students venture off Vestal Parkway but there’s a lot of good places in the area; if you have transportation.

Wait… so no New York pizza? Really? Say it ain’t so. Dominos is practically sacrelige to me. Am I really going to have to religate myself to that for four years? You’d think with the amount of people up at Bing from LI/NYC, they’d shape up a bit.

Unfortunately, there is only one place with half-way decent pizza… It’s in the mall, Oakdale Pizza or something like that. And even then its not up to scratch.

And I know. Believe me, to eat Dominos is unfortunately necessary. You may find a place if you shop around that’s decent but I haven’t found it. Some of the places make good pizza “bread” which they actually call pizza. So if you’re in the mood for pizza bread, you can eat that but otherwise… Dominos it is. Its not so bad as long as you try to put the taste of true, good pizza out of your mind as you eat…

If you can bring pizza up from downstate, you will be the most popular kid ever. And bagels…That’s the only solution.
Oh, yeah, also I suppose everyone needs to try out the Binghamton specialty “the spiedie”. It’s like marinated meat (chicken, pork, lamb, beef) and then put on a bun. It’s a pretty big deal and besides being the “Carousel Capital of the World” Binghamton is also home of the spiedie. …Yeah so try that out. A little dry occasionally, but pretty good.

There’s an Italian place on Vestal Parkway that my family really likes. It’s a little before Olive Garden (which is terrible). We usually order the pasta dishes, but their pizza is very good also. It’s the best pizza I’ve had in Binghamton and they deliver to campus. The thing is that it’s really a normal restaurant and doesn’t specifically cater to college students. Lots of these delivery places are open till something like 4 am, while La Vita e Bella has normal hours of closing at around 10PM.

Dude, there is NYC pizza. Just gotta know where to look. I’ve tried them all and the pizza place in University Plaza (I think it’s called Mario’s), has the best pizza out of all. Reminded me of NYC pizza.

Adrianos has better alzoes though, and theyre bigger, for 50 cents cheaper, plus it comes with garlic butter AND sauce instead of just sauce. mmmm.

Grotta Azzurra 52 main st. NYC Style pizza. Owners from Brooklyn/and Italy! $5 pizzas!!! They deliver to campus or off campus 607 722-2003!!! Calzones, wings, subs, ect

there are allot of different places where you can order take out. the best pizza around town are located in endicott. there are two italian brothers who each own their own restaurant. Its nicks and tonys pizza. I know they deliver but dont know their perameters. if a pizza you should try. Thin crust pure italiano.
