Was it nice? ^^ How was the food?

Here is the Parkside suite floor plan:

I received an email today telling me my roommate request was declined.

I haven’t sent in a roommate request to anyone yet.

The food wasn’t bad - a lot better than the food i eat in high school, that’s for sure.

yo wisdomsomehow i got the same thing today… quite odd

When are we going to find out what room we get assigned to?

After doing a bit of reading here and there, I’m getting the notion that you can apply for housing right now but rearrange your preferences later?

What is a good dorm for a person who wants a social atmosphere yet really needs to focus (want to go to med school GPA is important). Also what dorms make you pair up with a small group of people and you have your own mini kitchen/bathroom with that 2 or 3 roommates. I would rather have a bathroom shared by a few like 2-3, than shared by the whole dorm.

The suites, like Parkside, are where you just share a bathroom with about 4-8 people rather than your entire floor.

^How about Birnkrant?

^ There are no suites in Birnkrant (I think only Parkside IRC & AH and Fluor have them?), but they do have triples, which means you get two roommates instead of one. Everyone loves them because they’re basically two big rooms (one has beds, the other has desks, etc.), so LOTS of space. They’re hard to get though so usually people who applied early get them. Go with Parkside if you want a suite! Those dorms (and private bathrooms!) are superrrr nice :)

Can anyone give me a breakdown on each dorm? This is really confusing since I wasn’t really considering USC, until they gave me a load of cash.

pumpfake,
go to the beginning of the forum and go to housing.usc.edu

So it seems like the less social dorms are the ones without communal bathrooms. I love Birnkrant, but I’m not into a communal bathroom.

How are Parkside suites?

I am deciding between Fluor, Parkside and Birnkrant I guess. Leaning towards the suite style living. Which one is better Fluor or Parkside? Which one is closer to whats happening and which one is more social yet quiet.

Fluor is older, and it’s where a lot of the freshman athletes live.

Of course, good luck getting into Fluor or Birnkrant, those two fill up the fastest.

are all the suites more expensive than the dorm-style towers?

Yes they are, and the exact housing cost is listed on the Housing website.

I have decided that Birnkrant (TRPL and DBL) is my #1 and #2 choices due to its nice accomodations, great location, and good balance of studying and socializing.

From there on it gets more complicated. I know that I want to live in one of the dorms on the east side of campus -except for New/north (too much of a party dorm), but I am not sure which one exactly.

Out of the options of New Res. college, pardee tower, marks tower, marks hall, and trojan hall, which would has the best accomodations/clean living conditions? In terms of social life, it will be pretty much the same in any of these dorms, right?

ps. Price isn’t a concern.

Thanks guys!!!

i still haven’t applied… am i screwed out of all the good dorms?

i want birnkrant (sounds like i def. missed out) or pardee i think
and it says class standing is ranked 1st before application date and i got GLP program through marshall, so i think im top 10% of admitted business students

thanks
