Guided Studies Program

I received a letter from Trinity today that said the admissions department believes I have "excellent academic qualifactions" and invited me to persue a spot in the Guided Studies Program. Does this mean I am very likely to be admitted (the letter said admissions decisions are seperate) and did anyone get this letter or have a feeling about the program.

I recieved this letter today aswell. Interesting that it did not say that we were actually admitted yet, lol.

I will not be going to trinity however as I have been admitted to WashU so far, and that is far above trinity.

Congrats though!!! the program sounds really interesting, if you are into history stuff (not me lol)

I think you are guarenteed admissions... only 30 people are considered.... so yea, I took it as a likely letter :)

I THINK...they are checking if you show interest.
My suggestion: Go check out what the Guided Studies Program is, if you like it, take it, if you don't or have other reasons not to go for it, say so to the adcoms through a letter.
If I were you, I'd go for it....and if you do...it will be a great advantage in the admissions as it shows interest!!!

BTW .... congratulations on bein accepted to WashU!!!

They say the program is seperate from admissions and specifically that a decision to join the program has no impact on admissions.

There was a discussion about these letters last year, around this time, on CC. The letters seem to be Trinity's version of likely letters.

The Guidance Study Program sounds great! (Congratulations!! )But is the program reflect Trinity as a college in general? I can hardly get any type of impression of the school aside from the website and through cc.

I do seem to recall a discussion on this topic last year at this time. Does anyone know how/if we can find that archive?

my d got the invitation too. We don't know much of Trinity either, it is not one of the schools we visited but it sounds like a great program since she is considering studying history.

Anyone who could tell us more about Trinity itself or this program?

A flashback link of CC....here's a gud link u might want to try out...

d got invitation to guided studies about 4 days ago, and the cities program yesterday. She hopes to be invited to the inter arts program soon. The human rights looks interesting too.

congratz to all ya ppl.......luks like a possible acceptance...

Yeah I got the guided studies thing a few weeks ago and today I got an email saying my acceptance letter was in the mail.

Congratulations Siker24!

I am a fresh at trin in the guided studies program -- if you get a letter about cities or guided studies you are in basically is what i have been told... and btw the acceptance letters are sent out in tiny envelopes that look like rejection letters from other colleges so dont freak, b/c i did...
