DS is thinking of driving to Gulf Shores for the 4th of July weekend. Does anyone have experience of doing this? I’m thinking that the traffic might be a problem on a holiday weekend. If anyone has suggestions for the best route and some reasonably priced accommodation that might still be available I’d be grateful to hear from you. Thanks.
Traffic should be OK until he gets there. The problem will be a place to stay. I don’t know of any condos that rent to students, not to mention all the prices will be at their maximum. Hotels - he might be able to find something a distance away. If he’s camping, that shouldn’t be a problem. I’d call first, though.
Thanks for the advice @Southlander. I suggested to him that he might be better off going in October when it would be less crowded but I’ll let him know what you posted.
Compared to places like Panama City Beach or Daytona Beach, Gulf Shores/Orange Beach is uncrowded even in their high season!
