Gustavus Adolphus College - Standardized Tests and Aide

My daughter is interested in Gustavus Adolphus College but not a great standardized test taker (she gets anxious because of the time constraints). Has anyone had success getting a strong merit / scholarship package there without submitting either ACT or SAT scores? On their Common Data Set, they state that standardized test scores are ‘considered if submitted’ and not required. She has taken all advanced level IB classes in high school and has an unweighted gpa of 3.8 (weighted is 4.4), is a 5 year varsity athlete, captain of her swim team, and involved in a couple of school clubs including National Honor Society.

its so easy to get in. tell her to shoot higher than GAC. It’s not a great school. She could probably apply with a 18 ACT and still could get in. She deserves a lot more that crappy GAC.

I got in with no extra curriculars, a 4.45 and a 26 act with over 114,000 in scholarship and I will have to pay about 2,000 a year for the rest of it.

Hi I know this is an old post, but I personally was impressed with GAC when I visited with my daughter and my brother is an alum and greatly values his time there and the connections that he still has at GAC. My current HS senior has been admitted and he’s going to visit the campus in April. If anyone wants to know our honest impression after our visit in April, let me know.
