?
no, and colleges look for both spikes and well rounded individuals
The Ivies will look at your SAT scores. All of your threads asking for various ways around having a lowish score compared to the other international applicants won’t help make you more competitive. If you’re going to take a gap year and apply to Stanford, I really think the most valuable use of your time would be to study and increase your scores. You can do all the things you’ve mentioned in your posts – run a You Tube channel, add ECs, try to create a spike – but none of those will help if your scores aren’t competitive.
I have nothing to add to this other than I love @Derpthulu 's username :))
@austinmshauri of course , but scores are something YOU MUST have, meanwhile ECs and essay MAKES YOU UNIQUE. thats why i care about ECs/essays i know of course, im working on sat. i am also taking 3 subject tests (since i am applying to oxbridge, ucl, icl, they require 3 sat subjects + sat).
@MotherOfDragons thanks you’re one of guys who likes my name , many of my friends bash my name :dd
They won’t look at EC’s and essays if you don’t make a basic score cut off. It’s that simple. If you make the first cut with lower scores, they look at them again to make the next cut, each time fine tuning what they are looking for.
Add me to the chorus of using your time to get SAT up as the only way you’re likely to be successful getting into the schools you aspire to.
