<p>Abercrombie/American Eagle/etc are not preppy clothing brands. Plus, someone is not preppy just because they wear certain clothing.</p>
<p>^ well that's my view of preppy... what's yours? Personally i can't really tell the difference between preps (not the real preps @ prepatory school or whatever or is in the real upperclass) and non preps besides clothing.... (i mean it is pretty hard to put someone in the 'prep' category when they shop @ Hot Topic all the time) All the preppy rich girls @ my high school wore abercrombie/ american eagle/ hollister so on.. (or polo j crew etc.. but i never really paid much attention so) that was MY image of preppy. (also i lived with a pretty preppy girl for 2 yrs..) our school didn't actually divide everybody into every dang category.</p>

^it's not 100 percent accurate but that's what people's 'view' of prep is... alot with clothing (oh plz don't tell me 'real preps carry chanel whatever!' tell me how many people put into prep category @ your school actually carries everything chanel etc..(unless you are a rich private school person! grr)</p>

<p>yeah this has nothing to do with the original topic so i'm not going to fully get into it but i go to an all-girls prep school so there are a lot of genuine preppy people at my school (i'm not really one of them). in terms of clothing/accessories: they wear jcrew, pearls, lilly dresses, vineyard vines, etc. northface jackets in the winter but basically everyone here does, prep or not.</p>
<p>^ i'm speaking for public school people (although i lived in a rich neighborhood) and the widely known view of 'prep'... i mean how many percent of people actually goes to prep schools than public schools? I'm just trying to say my bro USED to buy stuff from abercrombie whatnot in high school...Now he buys even more expensive stuff and has has piercings as well (that might be because he likes jrock stuff)</p>

<p>i think it totally depends on the guy. some guys look hot with piercings while others look dumb or like they're just trying to hard to be 'badass.' don't make your decision based on what girls like though, do what you want to do.</p>
