The 100 hours of community service are for when you are in the program. And I do think that most of us that are applying for combined programs have more than 100 hours even though we are still in high school... But interviews are only held on Mondays and Fridays, so that's what is probably causing the delay in informing everyone because there aren't that many days for interviews. I think they end at the end of February, because when I was at GW they said they would start informing people of their acceptances into the program around mid-March.

Decision: REJECTED from Interview
Good Luck to all of you but I'm kind of heartbroken.

yo, where are u from? are u from the gujarati samaj Tristate? or another one? i go to the tristate events and the committee usually orders food from my mom. wow. i hear ya man. i would be heartbroken too. well, ur rejection kinda broke my heart too. damm. i thought i had a shot at this program, but i heard that the gwu one is like one of the more selective ones in the nation. so they told u already? ur good in physics? u should im me sometime. i suck at physics. umm ur stats are amazing. i guess maybe they thought u were just really academic and just a little cultural. idk what the basis of rejection they used.

hey when did u find out?

well i just got an email today...and i was frickin rejected.......

ahh wellz at least i still have a shot at VCU...

didn't get an email yet...hopefully thats a good thing...but i got rejected from Temple med

rejected too!

holy crap, there's no way I'll get the interview if HighschoolDOC got rejected....

with your stats, you'll get in somewhere great for sure

HighschoolDOC and suman, where do you guys live?

South Jersey, baby! lol

yeah, i await my rejection letter...

HighSchoolDOC, with those stats, I am surprised you had this program as your first choice! You can get into so many great universities and combined ba/md programs with your stats. Good luck with everything.

BTW, I was rejected as well, but I do not care one bit. Honestly, I was a bit fed up with the ridiculously long waiting period. I am withdrawing my app to GWU asap.

My condolences for the rejectees. Do not be disheartened though, you all have good chances at any other program!

Essay was well written. I wrote it to try to show motivation, compassion, and maturity.

Rec's were good, and exceptional from my AP Bio teacher.

And some other things.

Maverick I got rejected 2 GW, MSU, Rice, and Northwestern....so no i cant get in2 a good BA/MD program........my only two options are Case Western and Brown both of which are impossible.......so i guess im going 2 University of Michigan

Good Job J567

Rejected too. HighschoolDOC, why don't you go Ivy League or somewhere exceptional with those stats? The University of Michigan supposedly has a good pre-med program, but you can do way better than that. And, congrats, j567p. Job well done.

REJECTED :(
and my stats in a nutshell:
2130, 710, 750, 800
900+ volunteer hours, including trauma unit and GP shadowing
181 research hours
i thought my essay was ok too...
and i'm indian...but born in and living in canada... if that makes a difference lol

that's weird..........i haven't received an email yet.

me neither, maybe no news is good news. Although my stats are similar to the people who posted above so i'm not sure what to expect.

no news is good news...possible...but my stats are def not as good as the ones posted. no, i don't really feel like posting my stats on this forum. i might've posted them somewhere else. maybe gwu doesn't want like all academically talented students. my penn interviewer told me how some schools pick certain students because they don't have enough of those, like as in his example, tuba players. so idk, any tuba players here? lol.

I think the Asians got the short end of the stick this year.
