Harding292: yeahhh what's up, PM me too! i'd definitely have your GC give a call

yea harding try american. i spent some time there a couple of summers ago in a program for the intelligence community. they have great professors for international relations. i saw that you wanted to apply to the elliott school originally but chose the cas for better chances. you would be a strong candidate to study international affairs at american. plus, its in dc! its a little bit farther away but the campus is nice and you can still do internships and take advantage of all the great things that dc has to offer.

She was hospitalized multiple times and there was a time that she held me back from school because she thought I would be killed by "them".

Anyone that wants to read my essays can. They are top-notch as well. But I guess Columbian School at GWU still had to deny me?

Yikes, I know I sound like I am ranting and angry but I'm not... I just think I got shafted.

I got accepted to Elliott (ED1)

Im happy, congrats to every1 accepted, don't sweat it ppl rejected, i thought i was gonna be rejected, ive wouldve taken it well cause i was expecting it for some reason

Hey all, i was admitted into the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. woohoo.

To all who got in, Congrats!

To all who got rejected, I've been reading over your stats you've posted (esp. Harding292). They are great, and I can expect a good letter for you for the Regular Decision process. Dont feel down now because you'll all end up somewhere great, and you know it.

I know someone who got in early with a 1170 SAT (excluding writing) and 3.2GPA. But she is hispanic, has dyslexia, and really, really rich parents (doesn't need financial aid), so I guess that evened it out.

To what extent does not asking financial aid helps?

When it comes down to two identical canidates, chances are the one that doesn't need financial aid will win assuming the school is not need blind. If the school is need blind, it does not matter. It isn't something schools or admission counslers will ever admit, but it's a simple fact, and most guidance counslers will admit it.

GWU is NEED BLIND, everyone besides for idiots apply for financial aid, even if you dont think you'll get it

My friend got in with, what i see as pretty mediocre stats...

White/Male
2.75 GPA at Private School
No AP's other than CS, this year
somewhere in the low 2000's for SAT and a 27 ACT
NO Ec's
3 years of JV Waterpolo and Swimming
Summer job at Zoo
Ok Essay, good recs?
interview

im glad for him, but just kind of astonishing, i think at least...

Was he recruited for a sport?

good for him there mustve been some hook or his grades mustve been higher then you thought...

3 years of JV= probably not recruited for sport or else he wouldve been doing Varsity all this time

Is early decision MUCH more competitive and selective than regular decision? I was just told this by my EA and I thought that applying ED would actually help.

Does GW deny you for ALL admission? Or is it possible to still apply Regular Decision after being denied ED?

harding, some people have mentioned American to you, and Ithink you should think of them. And how about Catholic University? You would be on the higher end of their applicant pool, plus they are right there in DC also. If your attraction is to D.C., Catholic fits that bill. They have many of the same focus's as GW does. Look at their lislt of graduates, and you will see that quite a few of the newpeople and pundits in Washington today, graduated from there. And it's not too late to apply RD.

BTW - GW is NOT need blind, however in 99% of the cases they will not look at your financial situation. They do reserve the right to do so, though.

thats good to know maybe i got some money..

i'm applying ED2, ah this is so exciting, i LOOVED gwu when i visited. haha i think it's weird that you can know some of your classmates now that ed letters have been sent out. haha ok maybe i'm just strange. and now i'm really excited to hear back from them in february
