I am a senior at a highly ranked suburban public school applying ED1 to GWU.

Background:

-3.4 weighted GPA (3.1 unweighted) with a significant upwards trend. We do not rank.
-My weighted GPAs are (freshman to senior): 3.0, 3.4, and 3.8 + (4.3 Senior Year Q1 weighted, 3.3 unweighted in 5 ap classes)
-Mix of APs and Honors Courses throughout high school- Specialized AP Government Course "We the People" -- AP Gov Scores (US, Comp): 5, 4
-2170 on the SAT (super scored)
-ECS: Student Body President for aprox. 2700 person student body, Co-Chair of Ethics Committee, thousands of hours of political work on four political campaigns (including two internships and deputy campaign manager for a state rep race), Three-Term Class Treasurer for 600 kids, Co-President of school Young Democrats Club a few important awards (Boys State nominated by town, U.S. Senate Youth Program nominated by school), JV Tennis, AP Photography (4 on that) and some other stuff....
-An extremely high quality essay
-A very personal, very positive recommendation from a congressional campaign manager who is my mentor
-Very strong interview in DC with student admissions rep

I really struggled a lot early on in my transition to high school and made this clear in my application and improved personally, professionally and academically to get to where I am now. I was accepted to Tulane. I used the same common app essay as my personal statement there and it worked. The average accepted GPA for all applicants at Tulane is 4.0 weighted and slightly lower 3.95 at GW for all applicants. EA for Tulane is about the same, and ED accepted at GW is a little bit lower (3.7ish when you remove the recruited athletes from Naviance)... I was shocked that I got in at Tulane but I think they let me in by looking at my whole picture... Do I have a chance at pulling off another miracle for GW as well?

Thanks!!
