This could really go either way for me but here goes.
I'm applying ED2 to GWU and just wanted a realistic view of my chances. My school doesn't do GPAs so colleges just see my transcripts. My transcripts suffered greatly freshman and sophomore year because of a difficult transfer, the circumstances of which I explain in my addit info section.
My transcript went from -Bs, Cs and some Ds as an underclassman and my first semester senior year grades are -As and B+s.
I got a 770 CR, 560 Math (really not my subject), 670 Writing on SAT
Not part of many extra curriculars in school but dedicated to pursuits outside of school (which I also elaborate on in addit info)
Trilingual and diverse if that helps any.
I know that probably doesn't meet the criteria but I'm giving it a shot anyway. Chances? Should I apply RD instead?

You said your school doesn’t do GPAs. But certainly you can derive it ( your target colleges certainly will). You have a solid SAT (2000). GWU’s 25/75 percentile SATs are 1800 and 2090, respectively – placing you squarely in that range. (Google GWU Common data set). But your GPA and possibly class rank may give GWU concerns.

One of the best reasons why ppl don’t apply ED/ED2/EA is to wait for 1st semester solid grades from a tough courseload. This will assist your culmulative GPA and make you more attractive. It’s a tough call. It could go either way.

I don’t know how much GWU confers advatages to ED2 applicants: I think this is the most important issue: Wait for better culm GPA or go for ED2 and its advantages, if any.

Call and speak to someone @ admissions. Tell them your case – that if GWU is your 1st choice and you’re willing to apply ED2. Your SATs are solid but your GPA is iffy due to Fr and So years. You’re reformed, are taking a rigorous courseload and have a great 1st semester GPA. It’ll boost your culmulative GPA to XXX. See what they advise you.

I believe there’s also a GWU forum here too. Search for that.

Best of luck to you.
