I'm a pre-med major whose deciding between GW or UMCP. I got into the honors program at GW but not the honors program at College Park. My main goal is to receive the best education, but I can't ignore the fact that one costs double the other. What do you guys think? Which school is a better choice for a student hoping to get into med school?

I would,'t be able to tell you, both schools are great, GW has not only a solid pre-med, but terrific Public Health programs as well, and a hospital a few blocks away where perhaps at one point you could intern though...
Is a tough one... good luck

I'm in the same boat, though I'm not pre-med so I'm picking GWU (that is if I get accepted.) They're both good schools though, can't go wrong either way. But keep this in mind. Money aside, GWU isn't as BIG as College Park (have you seen that campus?!?!) and I think you'd have a better time at GWU. But again, if I were you, just visit both campuses, get to know the school better and then make a choice. It's a big choice.

GW doesn't exactly have the best pre-med program.

My zoology professor graduated from GW medical school, and does say they have a good program - that said, I'd pick MD because they have an outstanding program. Like I said, can't go wrong either way...

There's a sigificant difference between a medical school and an undergraduate premed program (I was premed at GW for a while and so are/were many of my friends).
