Im so surprised that I even got called back for an interview for the 7 Year BA/MD. How many people get interviewed, and how many actually get into the program? Anybody else get the email?

Congrats, Rehan. I'm currently a junior and will apply next year to GWU. I absolutely love GWU and hope on going there in 2006! Good luck with your interview!

Yeah, congrats and GLuck for the interview! you'll be great! :D

awesome job rehan. when did you send in your app?

Thanks for all the support everyone. I sent in my commonapp on Nov 1, I sent in the supplement in December. As for the 7 year BA/MD essay, I sent that in early January. I went to studentdoctor.net to look for feedback on med school interviews, and I read that the GW med school interview is pretty laid back. I feel like the hardest part is now done, i just need to rely on my charm for the rest!

one of my friends did the interview last year........here's what she had to say about it, might interest you :) :

What they asked about you:
- why you want to do it
- what you see in GW
- who influenced you..
- what's your best quality, define urself in one word..
...and the regular questions about this sort of thing

Qs about current issues:
- opinion on abortion
- 2 questions about issues that had appeared in the news over the last few weeks
- what do you think is the most significant medical advancement in the history of medicine? [not really a current issue, more like a historic issue :)]

My friend thought it was fine, not as daunting as i've probably made it sound in this post :) . They're not really expecting you to know everyhting, they just want to see that you are devoted to medicine for the right reasons, and that you have the motivation to go through with it.

....hope that helps rehan....once again, gluck! :D

WOW CONGRATS REHAN! :)

did you get a letter in mail?? that's awesome!! and AnitaVM...that was a really good post! :)

yo dude i got the same e-mail from kristen walker rite? i got so scared it was gonna be a rejection like vcu did to me (those biiatches =) ); is ur scheduled on the 25th?

Wow congrats to all who got interviews!
Can anybody clarify the program for me? There doesnt seem to be much info about it on the website, and the MSAR description didnt help :(
How selective is the program? (Compared to other accelerated programs like PSU/Jefferson or VCU) What percentage do they accept? Once you're in, do you still have to take the MCAT and get a minimum score?
Help!

where do you guys live..?
I sent my app in mid december and haven't heard anything as of yet...
btw gluck

REhan,
Can you put your stats

congrats on your interview and good luck rehan
i want to know if GW= George Washington University
and second, is this a 6 year med school program that ur applying to
btw r u muslim
just wondering because rehan is a muslim name and i am muslim too :)

Yes, GW = George Washington University.

to answer all questions about myself:

rishug87: my interview is on the Feb 14th

mail4rns: My Numbers are: SAT 1430, ACT 32, SAT 2: 760 Math 2C, 750 Writing, 710 Chem, 4.0 GPA in toughest curriculum, rank: 3/678. All these stats are from the time I applied in mid Dec. As you can see, these arent even insanely high, yet I got the callback.

hannanaq: This is a 7 year program, and yes I am a Muslim, albeit not a very religious one

rubens: Im from Homewood, a suburb outside of Chicago

Did you have an interview before with the school?
or is this your first one with GW??..

i havent interviewed with the school. This interview isnt even with the undergrad dept. Its with the med school.

did you get an email rehan or a letter?
