GW transfer to Georgetown?

Recently I was denied from my dream school (Georgetown) but accepted into GW University. I understand GW is a great school but I am looking to transfer asap or find the quickest way to attend Georgetown but I am not sure what this would be. Should I try and transfer or do you think I would have a better chance getting in for grad school? I've visited both colleges and absolutely love Georgetown but GW was not as campus-like or school-spirited which is what I'm looking for. I was also accepted into V.tech

Basically I'm looking for the quickest, most efficient way of me going to Georgetown.

i’m not sure about gtown specifically but it’s often quite hard to transfer into colleges that are that selective. if you want to go there, you may as well apply transfer, but you’re better chance is doing well in college then applying for grad school. but are you sure gtown is the only great school for you? instead of continuing to try to get in, why not try to find somewhere else where you’ll be happy?

I would be happy to go to Tech but I feel like it would much harder to transfer or even get in for grad

Apply to transfer. What do you have to lose? You’ll never know what could have been if you never apply.

If you are talking about transferring twice, it’s not going to happen.

Just wait til Grad school.

Save your money. Go to VTech. If you still want to transfer this time next year, apply for a transfer. If you decide to graduate from VTech, but you’d like to go to Georgetown for grad school, apply then. Grad admissions is completely different from undergrad admissions. VTech is a very well recognized institution. I scads of VTech grads have gone on to to graduate work at Georgetown.

Do you think my chances of transferring will be shorted if I go to Tech?

No. Your chances of transfer will depend on your courses, GPA, letters of recommendation, etc. VTech is a very, very well respected institution. People who actually are from Virginia tend to overlook that just like people who are from New Jersey tend to overlook the national reputation of Rutgers.

I think you would have a better chance of transferring going to VTech. For starters, it will be much harder to make a case of why you want to transfer from GW to Gtown when both are near DC, both have liberal arts curriculums, both have international internship opportunities, etc. However, VTech is a more science/math focused school in Virginia, so you likely argue that it wasn’t a good “fit” provided you still perform well academically.

hi guys, i am also trying to transfer go georgetown from GWU. i would appreciate it greatly if any of you guys can share your thoughts on my chances. Im in elliott school and I have GPA of 3.7. I have great international affairs extracurricular activities. If im applying as a junior, do you think i would have a shot? thank you
