So I got into George Washington, Boston University, and the University of Michigan but I'm having problems deciding where to go. I want to major in International Relations, which leaves GW as the obvious choice. However, I'm instate for U of M which would make my tuition very low, and U of M is better ranked. I received $26,000 from GW, but it's $50,000 a year. Then there's Boston where I received $16,000. I like Boston and GW the best, but my parents are pushing for U of M for the price, but I really would like to get out of here. What do you think?

UM doesn't have a IR program, though. It only has political science, which isn't the same thing. I would go to GW over Boston for sure, because it's cheaper, higher ranked, and better for IR. I don't know about UM, though. GW would cost a little less than 24,000 a year. UM(according to PR's website) would be $8,535+$7,030+$956+$187=$16708. Tuition is $8535, and the rest of the numbers are room and board/fees. I got these numbers from: <a href="http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/costaid.asp?listing=1023092<ID=1&intbucketid=%5B/url%5D">http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/costaid.asp?listing=1023092<ID=1&intbucketid=

It's really your decision(unless your parents won't let you decide). That's an $8000 difference. Do you think that GW is worth the extra money. I think so. I was accepted to UW and UM, but knew that despite GW's lower rankings, UW and UM don't even compare to The Elliot School. With the connections GW has with corporations and international organizations, I think the extra price is worth it.

Thanks for the input...anyone else have any comments?

just to say.. i have a friend with a very similar predicament. she's from st. louis, accepted to u maryland honors, gw and u michigan. she didnt like maryland, loved gw and loves michigan, where she will most likely attend. it was mostly the proximity to her house, the fact thats its such a better school and that her mother went there that persuaded her to go there. good luck.
