GW vs UIUC vs UM for engineering

Hi, i would like to have some opinions about these universities. I would like to major in biomedical/bioengineering.
I have been accepted at GW for BME.
I have however not directly been accepted into the engineering school at UIUC and UM college park, i'll have to transfer to the school of engineering in my sophomore year.
Would it be better for me to go directly into the engineering school at GW or to transfer out from the school of LSA at UIUC and UM in my sophomore year?

i'll appreciate some advices.

GW is not that great in engineering, plus the high tuition

UI UC is very good in engineering, are you currently there? if so why do you want to go to UM CP? As long as you get the requirement to the engineering school at UMCP (calc 1,2, physics 1, chem 1,2, intro to engineering, freshman english), transfering whenever before junior senior year is fine.

I agree w/chaoses. I would not go to GW because tuition is crazy expensive and they're not really highly regarded for engineering. I don't know much about UIUC. I would definitely recommend CP. I'm not exactly sure how to transfer in but chaoses sounds like he/she knows what he/she is talking about. CP also has a new engineering building (Kim building) and it apparently has lots of facilities for the bioengineering major. Good luck!

UIUC > UMD > GW

That said CP has a great engineering department. If it seems easier to transfer into CP's engineering school from arts & sci than UIUC's, I would go to CP.

Are you in-state for either IL or MD?

Thanks for your replies!
chaoses, i'll be entering as freshman this fall.
a778999, i'd have to pay international fee for both IL and MD.(i'm from Europe.)
Do you know which one gives more financial aid?
I'm a bit confused, do i have to enroll to know how much the university gives me?

thanks

I would say go to GW now since that's your only choice. Then make the decision next year when you know more about your options. Maybe you'll love GW, you never know.
