According to an email I just received from the admissions office, GW is withdrawing my Early Decision application because not all documents have been received. What I find strange about this is, the application status check says it may take up to three weeks to process materials sent to the admissions office, and today makes exactly three weeks from the deadline. I would hope they would give us a chance to check with our high schools to make sure things were sent before they withdraw our applications.

Anyway, I have already checked with my high school college counseling office's administrative assistant who affirms everything was sent. It is my early decision agreement that is missing, and she offered to fax another one over to GW. My tax documents are also missing, and I can easily fax those as well. I e-mailed GW telling them this. Do you think they will be cooperative, or just assume that I have "lost my interest in GW", as their email says?

Hi there,

Dont allow the GW admissions office to assume anything. From my personal experience and that of others, you need to be very aggressive (but nice!) when handling them through phone, email, fax, or mail. They have been pretty disorganized with me, personally.

Do contact your admissions officer, if you know their name. If not, find out! You need a consistent person to talk to, especially at a large school like GW

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your suggestion. I emailed them last night, and faxed over the ED agreement this morning. They emailed me back saying all that is necessary is the ED agreement and that the ED Financial app is not a big deal since they have my profile. I’m hoping they can confirm that they received it, since my college counseling office is quite annoyed at them.

I always confirm with GW, I never rely on them. Be persistent!

They received it =]

Thank god that’s over with. Now it’s time for the wait.
