GWU-AU-Gtown rivalries?

im wondering if there is a rivalry between these 3 universities in dc? Do students generally get along and party together or are they in their own spheres? Just wondering what the college social atmosphere is like in DC...

Well, some people do party between GWU-GU, and I know several who go over to Howard to socialize. Not sure about AU, though.

There aren't any rivalries, except the one GW always tries to create during basketball season. (For instance, they led a march to Georgetown in an attempt to promote the rivalry... except we were all at the Syracuse game.) While it's certainly not the consensus, I think some at GW think GU students are elitist, preppy, etc., but for the most part, no rivalry.

All seriousness aside for a moment, we do jokingly call GW the "Georgetown Waitlist." Perhaps with good reason?

For the most part, GW students have an inferiority complex when it comes to Georgegtown... And yeah, GW is sometimes known as Georgetown's Waitlist. That's not to say that we all feel that way since some of us didn't even apply to Georgetown in the first place, but that's something I'm going to rectify after next semester.

On the "You know you go to 'THE' GWU when..." list, it says:
- You applied to Georgetown, but just had a bad interview.
- You applied to American, were offered scholarsips, begged to go there, and still turned them down for GW.

And it's pretty much true.
