@edGWU2020 - I think the Facebook idea is great! Hopefully, we all get in shortly I have been counting down the days now for a while!
Welcome all! I know earlier a few people posted some of their stats, but if you guys want, it might be a good idea to have some more posted! Just kind of get us a general feel for the group we’re with Best of luck all, and hopefully we find out next week!!
The Facebook idea is a good idea! There is actually already a group on Facebook called George Washington University Class of 2020. Once they send out decisions, we should join that group or we could even start another one just so we only have those accepted (:
Yeah for sure!! That sounds like a great idea!! I want to live in Thurston if I get in!

Hey guys…for the past two months my entire search history has been filled with “George Washington university”. I discovered this “chat” last week and figured I should join. I am beyond anxious/excited about the prospect of attending. I really hope we all get in. My biggest fear is that I don’t get in because I feel like I’m a perfect match.
I have a 4.5 GPA and I’m in the top 10% of my class. I’ve been in all honors and AP classes since freshman year-present. The only non honors or ap courses I’ve taken were the ones required to graduate. I scored a 29 on my ACT, however did not submit my test scores because when the NJ rep came to my school she said she’s only telling people to submit them if they’re a 30 or higher. Also, I had an amazing on campus interview and the NJ rep and I have kept in contact. My dad also is a GW alumni. I applied to the college of arts and sciences undecided and second choice was the business school undecided. My essays in my opinion are very strong. My guidance counselor and I are very close and both of her parents went to GW (If that means anything haha) and I’m very close with both of my teachers who wrote my reccomendations. I also have a state senator reccomendation letter if that means anything. I have a lot of extra curricular activities:
Competitive cheerleading for 11 years-captain
EMS Volunteer
Assistant coach of a special needs cheer team
VP FCCLA-have won medals at leadership conferences
VP SPECIAL STRIDES
ART CLUB-have won multiple competitions
OCTAGON CLUB (community service)
NORDSTROM BP FASHION BOARD MEMBER
NHS
SCIENCE LEAGUE (participate in science competitions)
BECCAS CLOSET (community service)
Hostess
Camp counselor
I also volunteer at my local hospital
Honor roll grades 9-present.
My dad dormed at Thurston and said it was INSANE lol.
Really hoping for great news… best of luck to everybody. Hopefully in a week from now all of our stress will be gone.
Welcome @mknj1234! Nice stats but I’m interested in the 30 act or up comment; did anyone else get told that by a rep?? This whole no test policy makes it confusing haha
I lived in Thurston this summer, the facilities itself are alright. Not sure about the party vs. study scene though.
GPA: 3.8 Unweighted
ACT: 31
SAT: 1890
I take either all advanced classes or AP’s. I got a 3 on AP Biology and a 4 on APUSH. Top 10% of class, class size 1000. High honor roll every year, academic letter sophomore year, academic pin junior year.

@mls2016 ^^there’s my stats if you were wondering haha, i noticed you’re part of the Young Republicans, and your profile picture is w/ Marco Rubio. He’s my fav, I met him when I worked at the debate that was in Milwaukee, where I live.
@aubrianna I’m liking your profile pic! I’ve met Rubio a couple of times, he’s easily my favorite. Because of YR and working with my congressman I’ve been able to meet 8 candidates and hear 11 speak, and he stood out so much!
Yeah I thought it was weird too because I have a score in the middle 50%. But I guess maybe they’re trying to raise their average test score? She said she’s telling people to only send them if they’re in the upper half of the middle 50% so a 30 or higher.
@mls2016 that’s so cool! unfortunately we don’t have YR at my school or in my area, so I just volunteer with the party, but when I was at the debate, I got to meet him, Carly, Cruz, Huckabee, Trump, Bush, and Rand. After my job was done at the debate, I got to be a seatfiller and watch both debates which was so cool.
Anyone applying to the school of media & public affairs?
@aubrianna that’s awesome! We didn’t used to have YR, but some kids at my school founded it when I was in 8th grade, then I was elected vice chair my freshman year, and then chair after that! I want to go to a debate so bad, you’re so lucky! I got to go to the MRLC which was sweet because the congressman introduced me to Bush, Fiorina, Paul and Cruz. Outside of that though I’ve also met/seen Trump, Kasich, Carson and Rubio! I also got to attend a luncheon the other week with Paul Ryan, and talking to him was one of the coolest things I’ve done.
lol I am trying to convince myself that they will release them tomorrow since they love Fridays so much
It’s possible since they have released them as early as the 11th before
@mls2016 Paul Ryan is so nice! he lives near me, and I met him at the debate, but when I was flying home from GWU this summer back to Milwaukee, he was on my flight! It was a $100 Southwest flight and I thought it was cool seeing such an influential politician being modest. And im so jealous you have a YR! The fact you’re president looks amazing on college apps, I wish that I would’ve had the insight my freshman year to try to start one.
I’m from Texas. Had my High School college rep. email my respective GWU rep and he replied saying they released decisions December 18th! 8 more days!!!
