GWU ED 2021

Early decision is coming up soon, and I was wondering who else was applying and to what school.

I am applying through ED at The School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS).

I am applying ED to GWU for International Relations :slight_smile: So excited!

I am also applying Ed for the Elliot School!! @trent6543
Is everyone submitting test scores?

I am submitting my test scores. My average isn’t great but my Math/Science scores are the strongest which is important for the engineering school.

Do you guys think the admissions will ask us for our first quarter grades?

I’m applying without test scores, and they don’t ask for our 1st quarter grades for senior year. Only see our courses and our mid year (semester grades)

I just took the SAT Saturday for the last time and as of now, I am not submitting them. The only way I will submit them is if they are good enough cause they bring down my application.

WGPA: 3.81
ACT: 25 (28 for Math & Science)
I am a child of a faculty member, which I guess counts as legacy.
I did a 5 week internship at GW and it was great, I’m getting a rec from the professor. I’m also going to talk about my internship on my supplements.
Common app essay is very respectable.
Extracurricular activities are pretty solid.
And since I’m doing ED and technically have legacy, do you guys think I have a chance to get in with the strong background I have with the school? Be honest plz.
And should I send my ACT scores? My composite isn’t in the range but my Math and Science are and since I’m applying to Engineering school I guess that’ll be more important. I’m not sure but what do you guys think?

@ace102

ED does not mean it is guaranteed admission. It is a way for colleges to hang on to their desired admission pool of candidates [GPA/Scores]. So some time ED may work against you if you are not in the desired pool.

If your GPA is 3.81/4 then you are likely to be in the running. Having a parent as a family member usually does not carry any weight in the admission process. ACT 25 is not good news sorry, unless you are underserved, minority, etc.

It does not mean you should not apply [we are not admission officers] but you have to be realistic about your chances which on the face of it does not look great.

faculty member not family member… typo

@tamtiger Ok so I will just simply not send my ACT scores, and just compete with my GPA and Extracurricular. I think that will increase my chances then.

I agree do not send the test scores.

I think I’m going ED 1 to The Elliott School!

I’m doing ED 1 for SMPA for political communication :slight_smile:

Guys ngl, my supplemental essay is fire. I have a really nice history with this school. Can’t wait for December! :slight_smile: Good luck everyone!

Anyone looking to get into any of the special programs?

Could you guys post what test scores/ gap you’re applying with??

@jackrabbit4 I’m applying with test scores

@hellaneatbruh
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.8 Weighted

What excites you all most about their campus? :slight_smile:

@trent6543 probably being integrated in the city and the proximity to the white house
