I got into ultra competetive 7-year med programs at GW and U Miami, but I am having a hard time with this decision. Here are the pros and cons for each program:

GWU (+): NO MCAT, 3.3 GPA requirement, 7 year program, lots of internship and clinical opportunities, hospital is brand new and very accessible, DC is a nice location, dorms like palaces, my favorite cousin is going there ( we would room together)

GWU (-): It is ridiculously expensive, with the aid it will be like $42,000/yr (for both undegrad and medical school) and I dont think the social scene is as good as Miami's, campus is less attractive

Miami (+): 7 year program, campus is beautiful, girls are hot, climate is amazing, UM football games, better parties I would imagine, beaches, Med school is ranked higher than GW's in US News and World Report, I got 3/4 tuition scholarship for the undergrad years

Miami (-): I have to get a 28 on the MCAT and a 3.7 GPA (which is not easy in college), more distractions, people are very superficial, dorms not as good, hospital is in a bad neighborhood which is like 20 min away

Most people who are accepted to a 7 year Med program should rethink their plan to attend if they cannot get past the "hot girl/warm climate" considerations.

You are in for a tough, intense academic load ahead of you. Which school, for the money, is going to give you the best experience? This should be your only consideration given your choices.

How much money do you have? Can you pay the cost of GW without accumulating $100,000 debt? How confident are you in yourself as a student-- do you think you can pull a 3.7/28.....

If you are NOT confident, but rich...pick GW.
If you are NOT confident, but need loans, but REALLY know this is what you want...still pick GW.
If you are confident and need loans...no brainer, go to U Miami.
If you are confident, and rich...Pick Em!

The biggest mistake people make with med school selection is saddling themselves with too much debt. Internship and residency and the first years thereafter are stressful enough. Huge debt is only a reasonable choice if you are choosing a premier/ and/or very costly medical school because you want to go into academic medicine. Otherwise, not worth it.

"I have to get a 28 on the MCAT and a 3.7 GPA"

UM is giving you a terrible deal. A 3.7 as a pre-med student is killer. With those stats, you could get into med school without the program on your own.

GW is giving you a great deal by only making you get a 3.3 GPA and not having to take the MCAT. That will make the pre-med stress SO MUCH LESS because you won't have to freak out about interviews, essays, and MCATs in college. All you have to do is concentrate on your studies and do decently(3.3 is reasonable).

GW is very expensive, I admit, though. I can assure you that the social scene will be fine, and the girls are mostly attractive at GW. They probably aren't as tanned as UM girls, though, LOL. GW is also much more urban and fast-paced.
