GWU or Tufts?

I'm wondering, which of these 2 schools is better for a political science major.

This is just for fun! But which is it???

Neither is particularly strong in Political Science, but both are excellent in International Relations. I would give the edge to Tufts in IR.

The gourman reports put Tufts pretty high in political science. College help was kind enough to post them on post #40 in this thread
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=171420&page=3&pp=15

so what schools ARE good in polisci? Georgetown?

Wouldn't a school that's good at IR also be good at polisci, since they are fairly related majors?

just about the top 50 are listed on that ranking. Now I think G-town offers things that other schools can't. DC is the political capital of the world. GWU is in DC which is the only reason I would consider GW over Tufts but I still think tufts is just a better university.

HEre is the NRC data on politcal science. http://www.jajnsn.com/vanguarduniversities/politicalsci.html. It has 4 DC area schools in that ranking. UMD-29 G-town 37 GWU tied at 47 and American tied at 76 TUfts is ranked at directly below GWU at 49

That can't always be said since Econ and Business are considered pretty close too (Wharton actually gives business type econ degrees) but a great business program (Stern) does not mean econ will be just as good (NYU-CAS).

And yes, Georgetown is good in polisci.

I would go to Tufts due to its fairly equal strength in poli sci, econ and great strength in IR.

the person in question just sent his paperwork in to go to GW instead of tufts. I don't really get why, but it's none of my business. :/

whatever, i am sure he/she is going to get some amazing internship. I have friends in high school in this area who have interned with congress people. This is a politically active place and that is why nothing can replace DC. Location, location, location.

American is actually tied for 59th. Their IR department is 75, note the *.

GW has a good poli-sci program, but I'm not sure how it compares to Tufts.
