GWU or UMCP

Hi guys,

So after turning down by Georgetown, I'm left with GWU and UMD. Forget about the cost, from a stand point of academics, which school would you guys pick for business (finance and international business). Also, I plan to get my MBA at a top business program, which school would be better in preparing me for this goal?

From my layman’s point of view, I don’t believe there’s much of a difference between the two business programs, except for cost.

Maybe GWU because of its location? UMCP is near DC but GW is in it, if you want a more international area

Eh, Between GWU and Georgetown, I would probably go with Georgetown.

are you saying that because both cost the same or because you are well off ?

Er…ah…

The Maryland suburbs of Washington DC are fairly “international” and upscale, so to speak. Been to Bethesda lately? College Park MD is not Bethesda but doubtless you’ll find plenty in terms of international vibe if you look for it at UMD.

Thanks for all the responses.

@XtremePower, I meant to say if money wasn’t the issue.

I realize that two schools are fairly close when it comes to ranking and reputation. But I’m more concerned about getting into a graduate school afterwards. Which of the two schools is more likely to get me into a top MBA program (i.e. Columbia)? What kind of work experiences are top grad schools looking for?
