For those that are looking for a nice place to stay Im managing my friends condo while shes overseas for the next two years. Here is the AD.

Condo is located 2 blocks from Lyons Park in the Clarendon area. 5 minute bus ride to Rosslyn Metro Station (co-located with Georgetown University shuttle bus stop) or 10-15 min walk to Clarendon Metro station and Clarendon restaurants / shopping. Also near George Mason Law School.

Beautiful 2nd floor condo has many windows and is very bright. New carpeting and new windows. Vaulted ceilings in living room with wooden ceiling fan, wood burning fireplace, front-loader washer/dryer, central air conditioning, dishwasher and garbage disposal. Charcoal grills available in main yard area on first come basis. Good size bedroom with walk-in closet, living room/dining room and bathroom with tub and shower.
Anyone not from the D.C. or greater Metro area, roommates.com is a great and reliable resource to use. Craigslist is a waste of time and full of scams.

So… I was trying to be sneaky… I figured if I have been accepted, even though I haven’t received the paperwork I might be able to log into something I couldn’t log into before…like GW Web Info… http://banweb.gwu.edu/ … and it worked! Now - there is absolutely no information in there - only 2 tabs marked Personal Information and Financial Aid information, which are empty right now… but I am 99% sure I couldn’t log in there before!

Has anyone else - whether you have or have not been accepted yet- tried this? Your default PIN is your MMDDYYYY DOB - let me know!

When may I get my NetID?
You become eligible for a NetID once the Banner system indicates that you have officially accepted an offer of admission to GW (up to two terms ahead of your entry term). If you have been offered admission but have not officially accepted the offer, you are not yet eligible.- sorry bout that one.

I tried and I got in too I have a tab for personal information and financial information with a award under award overview does this mean anything. I checked the personal information and it will let me add addresses and emails but it does not have any of my current information what does this mean?

Mine lets me add addresses and emails too…but I don’t have any awards listed. Seems ours show the same type of information…

It seems we need everyone to try it - if anyone CAN’T get in, then it might mean something…but if everyone can, then its just another monitoring site I suppose…its just that I’m 99% sure I couldn’t get in before…I tried during April, before decisions would have come out, just to see… but I may have tried the net ID instead back then and am confusing the two…I just don’t want to get all excited and then shot down tomorrow or whenever the decision arrives in the mail.

What does the site look like to folks who have received decisions in the mail?? Can you check for the rest of us?

Well I haven’t submitted a deposit yet, maybe that is why? Still waiting on two decisions and looking for off-campus housing that’ll work for me.

Kulakai - I don’t think the deposit would make a difference, since Will, gits, and I haven’t even been accepted and can access it. Who else are you waiting on for decisions? Whats your #1 choice?

Who knows sigh we’ll just have to wait

I did do some checking though and its quite a big thing to be able to get in with your pin because they don’t give that out to just anyone it looks like

Just snooping around Will? What references are you checking out? Forums and whatnot or GW websites? I’ve seen instructions being given by GW to sccepted students to go online to GWeb info to get FA stats…I’m going to go to sleep with that PMA thought :)

You were just supposed to login with your mmddyy right or whatever? I’m waiting on nyu/usc still but they are reaches and I’ll know within a week theoretically.

I received my acceptance package on Thursday in CA, good luck to everyone else! Still convincing myself it will be worth it to leave beautiful UCSB…

Stats:
Entering Junior
College GPA: 3.38 UC
High School GPA: 3.67 unweighted
Lots of work experience in the political arena

I hope that gives you guys some hope, as my stats aren’t anything special!

Kulakai, I’m looking at off campus housing as well, but all of the apartments near campus are so pricey! Any ideas?

No offense PinkMingo, but how did you get in with such very low stats? I know lots of kids who got rejected with over 2100 SATs & above 4.1 GPAs for the Class of 2014. Perhaps, you can tell us more about your ECs; this might help future applicants with low stats interested in transferring to GW.

Elaboration on stats:
Prior to last quarter, when I was hospitalized for medical complications, I held a 3.72 UC GPA. UCs calculate GPA differently from many other universities. Also, weighted, my high school GPA is 3.8+.
Work Exp: 2 summers of working for political consulting & nonprofits, tons of political fundraising experience. Leadership Exp: Vice-president of Junior class in HS, as well as teaching assistant for ballroom dance at UCSB, managerial position at work, top fundraiser in the city, section leader for my HS’s jazz choir. Other ECs: Music Conservatory for 12 years, & 4 years of music composition.

As I said, still nothing spectacular, but I definitely have a passion for politics and have a clear direction, which I made sure came through in my essay. Hope this helps :)

Edit: Also to add, my SATs were 2110 in '08

@Kulakai -
For GWeb Info, yes. It should be your entire GWID - G12345678 - and your 6 digit DOB - MMDDYY. If this doesn’t work, try thinking back on whether or not you’ve logged in before. If you’ve logged in before, it would have made you reset your default pin.

As for your GW Net ID, you need to have accepted admission before they will allow you to create one, since this is for your school email address, among other student-only needs.

@PinkMingo3 - Congratulations, and thanks for posting your stats! I bet your essay rocked.

Mail comes in about 6 hours for me…maybe if I focus at work I won’t notice the time inching by…
