GWU Transfers

Anyone else here looking at GWU as a transfer school?

I am still waiting. Collegeboard says they have rolling admission .. is that true?

i applied to gwu as a transfer...i called them and they said the first wave of decisions will be mailed at the end of this week.

They have semi-rolling admissions from what I understand. Basically, they review applicants based on how fast they get them. But they told me we won't know till May when we are accepted or rejected. BTW what GW schools are you guys applying to and what are your college stats? I'm applying to the Elliott School on a low 3.6 GPA...

bump... What is this, am I the only person on this board that isn't opting to transfer to a top 5 school? There must be at least one more GWU transfer here...maybe?

the first wave of admission decisions were supposed to be emailed by the end of this week??? what school did you apply to?

i am a current freshman at syracuse university and i applied to the school of media and public affairs for journalism... i have a 3.933 college GPA and about a 3.7 from high school...but i hear admission to the school of media and public affairs is competitive..

i applied to arts and sciences...and yeah they said first round of people should be getting envelopes monday or tuesday. i talked to an admissions officer...so its legit

nice, thanks for the info... any idea if they do it alphabetically or are these admission decisions they are sending out just relative to the time you sent in your application? i sent my application in the last week of march so i'm guessing i won't get an admission decision too soon, right?

one question for anybody who may know the answer: on the GWU application status check site, will your status change when an admission decision is made to "admission decision complete" or something like that, instead of just saying "under review" or will it always say "under review"? I check that site pretty much everyday hoping for some change...

Yes, I spoke with them about that as well. They said it would change to actually let you know the decision. When did you guys submit the apps? I finished everything back in Feb.

I spoke to them a few times and they keep telling me we'll find out by the end of this month onto early May.

I'm pretty worried, the Elliott School of International Affairs is their most competative school. The School of Media and Public Affairs is pretty much on the same level, so good luck to us all!

oh thanks! that's good to know. i didn't send my app in until the end of march, so i'm guessing i won't hear for a while... but good luck to you as well, hopefully you'll be hearing sometime soon since you finished the app so early!

not necessarily true...its not based on when your app was done. when i called they said they had made a decision on my app and it was being sent in the first wave but that they cant tell you decisions over the phone. my app also wasnt done until late march...so you can hear back at any time apparently. good luck to everyone :)

Does it say "decision made" on your GWorld account? Besides, I hear they have semi-rolling admissions, which means they begin looking on the basis of when you send your app in, but everyone gets their decisions at around the same time. IDK, ever time I've called I get different stories from what you guys say... Should I ask for a specific person next time? They did tell me that they can't tell me over the phone, but if I ask, can they at least tell me if they've made any final decisions?

did u guys apply for Financial Aid ? I got into BU yesterday, which was very surprising. If i get into GWU, i mma go there though.

my account doesnt say "decision made"...i think that gets updated later, after a lot of people have already heard via snail mail. you could always call and ask if you can find out if a decision has been made and when you might be able to expect to hear from them. i think whether or not you get good info is just luck of the draw who you talk to first and who they're willing to transfer your call to...i don't have any names to give you for who to talk to though

elg- what school did you apply to and when exactly was your ap done? that's so exciting you'll hear next week.. GOOD LUCK! let us know the outcome

oh nevermind, i read earlier you applied to arts and sciences. ah this is scary some of us could hear next week

I've never been so scared...E V E R

Hey Guys-
I applied to Arts and Science from NYU and the admissions office told me that a decision has been made on my application, and that it would go online in 2 weeks and be mailed in 3? It seems as if they are trending towards a May 1st release date??....
