GWU Transfers

well that was a worthwhile post. thanks for sharing.

No Problem

Hey Guys- I received my acceptance yesterday in a large envelope package- I would assume they are heading out soon.

Congrats. It looks like I'm going to be the last one to get anything, as I just called them today and they have yet to review my application! What gives, I sent it out back in Feb... I think this means something bad...seriously... Anyone else heard anything besides the 90% of you who already got in?

ignore this post

I don't think I wrote anything offensive - you'll have to excuse me, I've only been stressed since Feb and am a bit worried that I'm one of the few people that applied to GWU and hasn't heard anything despite the fact that I sent out my application pretty early. It's just a bit weird to me...

MMoralN10Tion...my advice is to keep calling the GW admissions office frequently to ask for more information. I've been on the phone nonstop to my transfer schools these days and its taken upwards of 5 or 6 calls to each school before I got someone who gave me useful information. don't give up, be persistent. It's luck of the draw who takes your call and how much information they might give you. good luck! let us know how it goes

I will, that's for sure... thanks though.

Hey, I haven't heard either. I guess because you applied to elliott so that's why it's probably taking longer to hear. I applied to the school of public affairs and media so i expect it to take longer cause they're both relatively harder programs to get into from what we've already talked about. don't worry, we have a whole more month to hear and last time I talked to them they said they'd send decisions out around the 1st or 2nd week of may. I also know another girl who also applied to the school of public affairs and media and has not heard anything yet either...hang in there!

applied to school of arts and science. haven't heard anything.....

Well, I wish everyone here the best. I'll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything from them.

BTW, I called them yesterday and they said that my application has been reviewed. Now,he didn't sound too sure because at first he said "under review" and they review them on a rolling basis. I replied with "well, I submitted everything back in early Feb. and yet I hear that there are people who already got in even after submitting there's a few weeks before the deadline. Do you know when they'll review it?" to which he replies "It's been reviewed" Weird, cause GWU doesn't say it when I log in... And they're typically good with updating things online.

dont count on the website to update you...i got my decision like 2 weeks ago and my website still isnt updated. it still says under review

I see... Well, I'll email them once more maybe. Pretty anxious times...

i think we'll be hearing this week or the next, so write on this board asap when you hear!! good luck! : )

I FOUND OUT THAT I GOT IN TODAY! Twas over the phone, they transferred me over to the director of admissions who gave me the news! I don't think I'll get the official letter till next week or so. Call them people, I know everyone is pretty anxious as well!

yay congrats! haha when they told me they gave me my answer over the phone too....right after telling me they dont give decisions over the phone. funny how that works huh? congrats again!!!

CONGRATS MMoral!!!!!!!!!! I am really happy for you considering it's your first choice school! did you just call and ask if you could know your admission decision or what?!

what?? can we ask over the phone ask?? How did u do it?

I didn't ask to know whether I was admitted or not, because I heard others say they won't give them over the phone. In fact, I got an email that simply said "A decision has been made and you will be notified shorty." I wasn't expecting it AT ALL, I just wanted to know if and when it was reviewed. But they got me the director of admissions, or at least a staff member who sounded pretty happy and said "Congrats, you were admitted" (after confirming my name of course). But it's strange, I don't FEEL like I got in, not until I get the official package at least

oh.. late, i haven't got any type of e-mail from them...
