GWU vs Drexel for MS in CS programming

Dear All,

I am an international student and got accepted to both Drexel and George Washington University for MS CS program for Fall 2023. I am looking for valuable insights that would help me come to a decision.

Drexel’s Co-op program is the main attraction for me and the main driving factor that I am considering Drexel. GW on the other hand is ranked a bit higher than Drexel.

I have heard negative comments on Drexel’s infrastructure while GW’s infrastructure seems good. Another driving factor is the cost of living in DC vs Philly. Drexel will turn out to be slighly cheaper overall.

Curriculum wise, both are somewhat similar.

As an international student, you may be limited in where you can co-op. Have you checked with the international students’ department at Drexel?

Yes, I have checked with Drexel grad alumni. There are ample of opportunities even with the limited options.

GWU also allows international students to “intern”. However, in this case it will be max 20 hrs per week and for a shorter duration, that is 2-3 months.
