I want to major in economics (potentially double major in econ+math) and eventually go to grad school. Both GWU and Northeastern Honors have the same environment, meaning they both are urban and they both have relatively the same comfort (NEU Honors students get special housing). They both also have wonderful internship opportunities, with NEU that has a co-op program and with GWU that is in middle of DC. I got about the same amount of finaid from both schools in proportion to their costs (GWU is more expensive and so I got proportionally more amount of $$ from them).

So which school will provide me with the best opportunity to do well and eventually go to a good grad school?

Hi. I'm a current NU student in my soph year. I went through a very similar situation when I was deciding. I'm a business major though. GWU and NU were same cost afterwards, etc.

I would Definitely recommend going to both for welcome days or whatever they call the admitted student days. One of the reasons why i choose NU was the coop because GW likes students to do interships and NU has one of the most innovative and the largest coop program in the country so you get paid for a lot of coops. Another cool thing is if youre econ you can try acoop with wealth management or one with policy, etc and really see different opportunities.

One big reason was I really liked NU's campus more. This does depend on the student though because I have friends at GW who love the campus but NU's has more winding paths, green quads, etc. GW's is well grouped like NU's as well (both better than most urban schools) but GW's is set up more in blocks (like I said some students like that feel but it wasn't for me).

Having family who had lived in DC before I just enjoyed boston more because Boston is an amazing city and it is very european and NU's placement in it is perfect. We're right where all the schools and museums are! We have the world renowned museum of fine arts on our campus with dorms across the street! And the prudential center, newbury street, and everything else you could need is 5-10 walk from campus.

If you have any other questions let me know because I remember the decision time between GWU and NEU was extremely hard and I was back and forth between them for quite some time.
