My daughter was also waitlisted at American University and just found out today that she is accepted to AU. Still hoping to hear from GWU
@lvanne My daughter was accepted to AU- SIS (Global Scholars) but received no merit and no aid. Does AU provide merit/aid to wait listed students?
@HappyFace2018 @ivanne well this is great. I’m slowly dying and people are getting into more compettive schools than GW. They probably are going to get in and I’m going to not get in and then DIE in a hole. Yup. That’s my plan.
Should I call in and tell them about some of the MOST recent accomplishments I’ve made like being politically active in my state and taking part in a march is dc like a week or so ago? Also is anyone going for financial aid at GW because obviously that has some affect on their decision and I’m not because I got an external scholarship which pays for four and maybe five years of college…

@GWdreamteam1998 Actually, GW is more competitive than AU. Had my daughter received the same package from AU that she received from GW, she would have chosen GW hands down. While both have the DC location, GW is the most politically active and #1 when it comes to internships.

@HappyFace2018 How did your daughter get notified that she got off the waitlist at AU?
@kenzielouwho No, she was not wait listed at AU or GW. While she was accepted at both, AU gave no merit/aid. There are two students in her class who were wait listed at AU and GW who are waiting for calls/decisions. No one from our school has ever been wait listed at these schools so they have no idea if they will receive merit/aid if they are selected from the wait list.

@kenzielouwho No worries. This is a gut wrenching time for her close friends. They thought they’d all be going to GW or AU together. Her private school senior class is small so it’s very tense right now.
She received a $8400 grant from AU which is disappointing. We were hoping for 22-25k which is what other schools have given her in Merit aid. So very excited she got in as it was one of her top choices after GWU and we were really surprised she was originally waitlisted (31 ACT 4.00+ etc) but probably won’t be able to accept. Still hoping the hear from GWU.

@GWdreamteam1998 my sister’s just says under review, but earlier this morning it had said waitlisted. So no, not yet, but we are crossing our fingers! Does your say under review too?
