When the admissions officer called my sister she told her that she was going to be “making her case” in front of the entire admissions committee, and she wanted to be sure that my sister would 100% accept an admission offer before she chose to present her file to the committee. My guess is that each admissions officer is given a batch of students and every time they go to the waitlist during the spring each admissions officer chooses a few students that they want to present to the committee (and then the committee either gives the OK or vetoes) . Obviously I have no idea, this is just what her call made it seem like. It is very unlikely that they do it in “waves”, because then you are not looking at the entire group of students as a whole. And planning “waves” doesn’t really make any sense, because you can’t really predict how often you will have to move to the waitlist throughout the spring and into the summer. In my opinion it is much more likely that the students are divided equally as I mentioned above, as it allows all students on the waitlist to be looked at.
Also - it isn’t even May 1 yet. There is still plenty of time to get off the waitlist! It seems as though this was just the first “batch” of acceptances. I am sure there will be plenty more 
@fhgirl16 is right! i mean my friend found out waaaay before me that she got into GW and she also applied for regular. I think its the ones that are SUPER qualified and then they review the rest like they did with the regular applications. there is still hope for us all

i mean you might consider emailing them that great success but then you will be worried will it go through? will this hurt my chances? will i not get in because of this? and you will live the next 30-35 days in fear of the outcome… that was me 2 days ago… this is the only place i can vent
@GWdreamteam1998 I know that, I mean to just update the school that I was sworn into magna/summa cum laude because my school is the only public high school in the entire state that has a chapter. to answer your second question, I’m calling in because they’ll put it in at that moment once I give them my GWID and whatnot.

@alanislguerra well i always worried that if i sent anything in, it would screw my chances up I mean I got best delegate at a competitive MUN conference and i dont know if its too late

I got this along with a couple other things since I last called like getting state placements in my events for science olympiad and being a recurring soloist in my school’s chorus
@alanislguerra well… i feel like i screwed up my interview because i spoke too quickly and he was trying to keep up. he might have missed a couple… thousands of things
@GWdreamteam1998 lol well, call again and make it more of a conversation but at the same time I’m not sure if they’d appreciate you telling them the same stuff if they actually got it down the first time so you might want to keep that in mind and be cautious (because some of us can type at the seed of lightning )
