I'd like to take a yoga or pilates class and so was wondering, where are they offered? Do I have to sign up for a PHYS Ed class? I don't need/want the credit and want to take the cheapest class possible. Also is there a gym near West Campus?

Thanks!

as long as you have a gym membership, there are "classes" offered a few times a week where an instructor will lead the class. They're rather informal, come to those you want to. There's usually a list of the available classes online someplace.

also, there's a gym on West

Where is the gym on West located?

thanks!

class of '18 maybe? it's one of those, though it will be knocked down soon. $50 says they're opening up a new facility with the west campus renovation, i'm just not sure where to be exact.

Gym on west is in Class of '26...

Does anybody know if pick-up basketball is available on the West gym (see separate thread looking for pick-up basketball info from earlier today). Thanks.

eek, I gotta get out more. I don't even know what's on west campus. I'm currently taking wellness and fitness, which meets in all the gyms, mainly the one in appel. What's cool is that you get a free membership! If you already purchased one, they reimburse you on your card later on. pretty sweet.

If you take a PHYS ED class, do you still have to pay for a gym membership? Or is it covered under the fees that you pay to take a PHYS ED class?

thanks!

Well some make you pay for equipment and stuff...but not mine! It's absolutely free as I previously said.

Oh okay. I don't mind paying $100 for a yoga class if the gym membership comes with it. I don't want to pay for both.

gym classes (i don't mean the required PE classes) are free as long as you have a gym membership. Well worth it, too.
