H.S Dropout 4.0 Transfer?

Freshman Year (Entering 2nd Semester-BMCC)
Dropped out of H.S and got my Equivalency Diploma.
First semester in college with a 4.0 GPA-
1160 SAT {600 R&W, 560 Math} (Retaking in August)-
I’m taking my Nursing Pre-Reqs for Hunter College, do I have a good chance to transfer there?

I’m also considering:
University at Buffalo
Stony Brook University
Binghamton University

What do you think? Should I even try these schools? Thanks so much guys.

Honestly your SAT is about average, but your college grades are perfect, so I don’t see why you couldn’t get into any of these schools. But I’m not very knowledgeable so don’t count on this answer lol!

I know, my only saving grace is my grades right now. When I retake the SAT and get a better score, hopefully I’ll feel more confident in myself and not have to ask your guys’ opinions haha

CUNYs do not consider high school grades and SATs once you’ve earned 30 or more college credits. You are also not required to report SATs if you’ve been out of high school for more than two years. Transfer admissions to senior colleges for students with 30+ credits are based entirely on college GPA. SUNYs probably have similar criteria. Stay in CC, continue earning good grades, and apply for transfer after your 2nd or 3rd semester. If you maintain a high GPA, Hunter will be a given. For SUNYs, check articulation agreements and transfer paths for individual schools to make sure you take a matching curriculum, but you shouldn’t have a problem getting into any of them with a high GPA.

That’s a good idea

Hunter regularly has info sessions for prospective students. You should attend one to talk about transferring and to ensure you are meeting all the requirements. See http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/nursing/pressroom/info-sessions

Read thru their evaluation process at http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/nursing/admissions/undergraduate/bachelor-of-science-nursing-program/ on “how to apply”. It looks like admission is based on gpa and a pre-RN exam. Your gpa is fine, at the info session you can ask about when it would be best to take the exam and to understand the timeline for xfer students.

Also I hope you are doing volunteer work in health care or have some other experience in the field. At some nursing schools this is a requirement, and even if not getting some exposure to one’s intended career field before committing is a good idea.
