h.s. GPA question..

http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=3879&type=qfs&word=university%20of%20washington

* 51% had h.s. GPA of 3.75 and higher
* 29% had h.s. GPA between 3.5 and 3.74
* 13% had h.s. GPA between 3.25 and 3.49
* 5% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24
* 2% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99

are those GPAs weighted or unweighted?

I think the ones that schools give are all UW.. this was just my understanding.

82% in top 10th of graduating class

unweighted i assume

wow..if this is uw..it's crazy..

does anybody here know for sure?

http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?match=true&collegeId=991&type=qfs&word=UCSD

i know UCSD has avg admission gpa of 4.05..and i know that's weighted..

so with that in mind those can't be uw now can they?

Hmm..I alway assumed it was a weighted gpa....that is weighted by the way that the college weights...so for UCSD when they say 4.05 they mean the UC GPA (they have a very specific formula, no freshman grades, only a-g classes,etc, max of honors/AP grades, etc).
Other schools we visited told us that they either went with the weighted gpa on the high school transcript, or some of them re-weighted the gpa as they wanted to, so that they re-weighted gpas on a level playing field like UCSD.
I always thought that these stats were self reported, as some school profiles don't give the information.
